Leftist ideology

March 24, 2013

If a conservative tries to adhere to a set of moral standards, but divorces, has a child out-of-wedlock, or commits some other moral failing, they are derided as a phony or hypocrite by the left....

The left includes the 47% that voted for Obama in order to continue their gravy train. To believe in GOD would require they have morals and accept responsibility for themselves and their families.

" So far, no refutation"

I'll refute everything in the letter. Where doyou want to start?

Scientific evidence for cloud people?

Liberals aligned with terrorists?

Protesters causing damage to the WI state house?

It's ALL garbage. Personally I think we should institute a retroactive chain email tax of a dollar for every forwarded email, and let the right pay off the deficit. If you forwarded an email to 100 people in 2002, pay $100. 50 recipients in 2008, $50 please.

Liberals say that because morality is derived from religion, that any public discussion of morality is turning the nation into a theocracy.

But what is the difference between a theocracy and a liberal utopia?

In a theocracy, a core group tells everyone else how to live and what to do.

In a liberal utopia, a core group tells everyone else how to live and what to do.

What difference does it make if an Ayatollah tells you that pork is banned or if a liberal mayor tells you trans-fats and salts are banned?

Both rob the people of their freedom.

One group thinks it is empowered by some deity while the other thinks it is actually smarter than the rest of the population.

In other words, both are deluded.

Oh, this is some funny stuff here.

erik, can you say, "jimmy Swaggart?"

If you can't say that one, not to worry. I've got a long list of other morally righteous and quite religious conservatives we might want to throw into the discussion while we are talking about all that right-sided purity.

I needed a giggle with my coffee this morning... :-)

Buff, Your 'facts' are stated in the letter and I have no argument with them. I've never said that Republicans are perfect, in fact some of them are just as bad as any Democrat. I know that it's not the party affiliation that makes for a good politician. Maybe you should learn that.

CHayes, Cloud people? Get some professional help. BTW, still no refutations. Pick one.

There are people on both the liberal and conservative sides that sin and need a savior. Satan has done a masterful job of breaking up the church on a variety of social, fiscal, personal freedoms, helping/caring, etc issues. It is time for Christians on both political sides to reach across the aisle and gather together.

I'm a liberal and my view is that morality is most definitely not derived from religion or the bible.. we are not one nation under god, we are one nation in which you are free to worship any god you chose, or no god at all.. provided you do so within the confines of secular law.

Oh Please, stop it!

Clean up your own house! Satan did not break anything, factions within the church did that. Human beings did this not Satan, not God.

Christians on both sides of the ailse. Really according to most on the right no one on the left is a Christian only the right. The man who wrote this letter is far from moral let alone Christian.

Sure. You want to talk about how this luunatic says liberals are aligned with terrorists?

It wasn't liberals that screamed bloody murder about Bin Laden being killed in a raid by SEALs.

It wasn't liberals that gutted the embassy security budget, then tried to turn the resulting dead bodies into a political football.

It wasn't liberals that fought tooth and nail against a law that would prevent people on the terrorist watch list from buying firearms.

It wasn't liberals that just went berserk about two "American citizens" that had joined the leadership of al Qaeda, being killed overseas.

It wasn't liberals that supported a guy that murdered a doctor in the entrance to his church.

What would you like to talk about next you little terrorist sympathizer?

So erik, Premier, am I to understand that your "morals" are being dictated by an arbitrary outside influence that you both call God? Is that what you're saying?

Let me ask you both this: had you been born in Baghdad, would that arbitrary outside influence be called Allah?

And had you both been born in Tibet would that arbitrary outside influence be called Buddha?

You got the morals and values you have because you were born into the family you were born into in the place that family lived. Don't act like it was the result of a conscious decision on your part, unless of course, you both abandoned those of your forefathers and, based on a little research and self-reflection, actually chose a different religion or set of beliefs.

When you really think about it (if either of you dare) it's just a crap shoot...

While all the good christians continue to turn the other cheek, I'll contend with an absolute moral certainty, that there isn't enough rape in the entire US penal system for someone that would intentionally shoot a 13 month old infant in the head.

Hey, if you turn the other cheek and let him go, you could support the free market by selling him some guns, which.many of you think should be as readily available as potato chips, but easier to get.

CHayes,"Morality primarily comes from your parents and society, not fairy tales."

And where did society get its morals? The answer is religion, and the farther our society gets from the religion that founded the country, the farther we get from those morals. The morals of the left are vestigial morals left over from the days when most of the people were Christian. They have thrown away the ones they didn't like and kept the ones that they are still OK with, but those are less and less as time goes on. There is only one 'moral' that is native to atheism and that is survival of the fittest. Any other morals the atheist has are borrowed from some religion. So Chris, the morals you learned from your parents and society are Christian morals. How repulsive!
