Wes- when the county or any government makes you think "it's a win-win for everyone", I'm already suspicious.

Forgive me Texas but there is a lot of niavety in that statement. First of all, you're referring to packaging as in the boxes and such that merchandise comes in? Part of that is 'display' not just theft protection. It is a way of making merchandise look nicer, being able to stack it on shelving, etc. You couldn't stack 5 TV's on top of each other for example if they weren't in boxes.

As far as the moral of your comment, while I agree with you, that is life, it always has been, even in the days of your Jesus Christ. It's the way the world was when it was "created'. What we're talking about is much simpler than that. It doesn't have anything to do with the 'goodness of people'. It has to do with increasing what you can recycle and making it easier to do so, therefore encouraging more people to do it. I think it's great!

Much of what we throw away in the trash is packaging. The reason there is so much packaging is to prevent easy thefts of merchandise.

If we as a nation would have pure hearts, not covet what others have, or be willing to work for it, we could reduce a lot of our trash.

I'll admit, I am looking forward to this as well. I was initially one of the individuals to criticize it. My main concern was a 'rising cost' in trash collection. In actuality it has the potential to be cheaper than my current trash service, and that is WITH the recycling added. Great Job Lycoming County for getting this process started and making it cost effective for the people who will be paying for it. It's a win-win for everyone!
