i hope Mr. Linhardt is following comments on this situation. The public seems to be expressing their opinions on the current situation. he appears yo believe one contact with the system indicates a "red flag". Not always. perhaps he should also reference the number of acquittals each month. Either charges are stacked, his office is not that good or the scheming defense attorneys ( of which he was one) are skilled, OR jurors do see clearly and acquit in fair number of cases. the issue is even more complex. Political aspirations, future judicial elections, re-election, retention all permeate the system to a degree. Anyone in an elected office also has an agenda. The 'perfect Storm" reference by Judge Butts is more than accurate.

Agreed. His "one contact"-rule sounds an awful-lot like a job-security "play". The DEA does the same, all the time.

Woah! Lycoming County voted for John Wayne Linhart for DA. His job is to protect the public? He is doing a great job protecting us from our earnings. I thought his job was to work for the public not for his political agenda. Who is he protecting? Petty criminals are going to commit petty crimes and a costly medieval sense of justice isn't protecting anything.
