First of all, I didn't write this letter for the Mayor. More importantly, I'm also not sitting here saying I agree with each and every decision he makes. However, if you remember back, not too long ago it was the City Council, NOT the Mayor (an article was even written in the paper about it) who pushed forward a tax increase, in which the Mayor refused to sign off on, however, they didn't need his signature after a 7 day waiting period. I believe that the biggest problem with our local government is that the City Council has too much control, much like congress in America.

I hope Wes learns the lesson to limit the scope of gov't (even at the local level) because gov't ***** at doing most things.
