"Just because it happens behind closed doors ... or because the victim and the assailant know each other doesn't make it acceptable. We all agree that it's not acceptable," said Corbett, who was flanked by more than a dozen advocates for the programs."

I'm a little confused by your comment Ray, are you saying that women want to be abused? I'm not really sure there is a lot of truth to that.

I have been a victim of domestic abuse years back but also believe that now a days anything and everything is called abuse, the younger women yell abuse to get even, or go as far as make stories up so they can get a man kick out of his own home. I saw this happen with my son who would never in a million years abuse a woman. Sad to say their our woman(AND MEN) in need of this help however what about he ones that cry wolf ? Maybe jail term for them as well. Also what about help for the elderly ? Or help for the working person on a single income that cant afford to eat because they have high rent , medical bill's, and more bill's. We cant get the freebies, CAUSE WE WORK AND MAKE 40 DOLLARS TO MUCH. Only the working poor suffer in Pa. Give help to domestic violence by making sure the victims get counseling and can use some of there own resources to help themselves.A lot OF these people take the abuser back, which is why long term counseling is so important. They need to learn self worth
