Hey Dot, read the letter "Unfair Punishment" by Phil Underwood. That should explain it all for you.

God gave us the 10 commandments.

The founders gave us the Constitution.

Lifetime politicians gave us hundreds of thousands of rules and regulations, yet somehow, we still have more crime, poverty and corruption.

Perhaps, simple is better.

God has no say over someone's choices. None whatsoever, an individual deserves the right to decide their own path. They have the choice to "follow God" or to live their own life. NO LAW Should prevent them from having the right to do so.

The point is that God's law is 10 commandments that everyone can understand.

The founders created a nation on six pages of paper in a language everyone can understand.

Our current leaders can't seem to manage without hundreds of pages of legalize that even they do not understand!

I guess, Dot, God should have not made them that way. Maybe we should have slaves and stone our women when they do something wrong. I really think God does not care whom you marry, he has bigger issues, but the meddling people of God seem to care and know why he wants.

Why should there be this one law to go through politicians, State laws, Congress and many other places about "men marrying men or women marrying women." There has been a law of this matter ever since "God" made Heaven and Earth. It's in the Bible and that contains the best laws that were ever made..." - Dot Knarr

"..best.." being a relative-term.

Love your neighbor as yourself. If you do that, everything else falls in place.

Probably because "Biblical Law" does not control, nor should it. "God" can change, if it is so, in the end.

Rick, I believe God does care who you marry. He also abhors sin. The old laws of stoning and others were written by Moses at a time when there were no laws. Most don't apply today. You could also make the same argument with 'man shall not lie with another man' but I interpret this one to be timeless. IMHO.

Rick- Stevie Nicks WAS hot at one time. Her lifestyle has caught up with her and she looks a little rough around the edges now. Her voice has a bit more "gravel" to it now.

You're entitled to believe what you want.

Your ONLY obligation is to extend that (same) consideration to everyone, else.

Dot, our govt is secular, not religious. If you or anyone chooses to believe in a god and the teachings of that god--not defining which god, thx Phil--then that is your choice and I wish you well with that. However, when you are talking about laws, then we are talking about govt and religion does not belong intermingled with govt. That is one of the tenets of our founding and our forming documents, the freedom of religion or freedom to not have religion in your personal life, but that all will be treated the same despite their religious proclivities.

The premise of the author's letter is that there is a Creator, that said Creator has a relationship with the inhabitants of this planet, and that the author knows what that relationship is. The questions the author asks are relevant only if you subscribe to all three of the three premises mentioned above. I happen to believe the first premise and not the second or third premises.

Dot, what shall you be doing when you are judged for your sin....or are you free of sin or above judgement??? sin is sin!!!

Anyone who is in Christ doesn't face judgement, or penalty. I love the bumper sticker that says, "I'm not perfect...just forgiven!" Passover is a foreshadowing of what Jesus does for us. God allows us to believe wrong things if we wish. He doesn't force us to do anything. The choice is ours.
