Franine - "Have you ever actually spoken to a land owner up there. I am one, 415 acres and not gas leased ever,"

If you really mean, "not gas leased ever," I certainly hope you have seen an attorney, as you never know when you are going to meet your maker.

"I certainly hope you have seen an attorney"

A great example of how this industry is costing people money in this area. On order to protect what is rightfully yours you need to spend money.

Francine sounds like a smart person who probably has spoken to a attorney to protect her assets.

rick you are correct it can be very expensive to hire a Real Estate or a Environmental Law Attorney, I am blessed with a sister who practices both forms of the law, she steered us in the right direction in protecting our assets.

"We have no reason to be cynical about the actual dialogue that occurs."

"We have no reason to be mistrustful of Anadarko or opponents to the company's plans."

Seriously? Anyone who has been paying attention at all does.

This was a clear intent to circumvent the Sunshine Law and control what information was shared with the people of PA. ALL OF WHICH ARE THE REAL STAKEHOLDERS!

The DCNR's prime directive is to ensure "the preservation of the natural scenic, historic, and esthetic values of the environment." That is NOT an opinion, or an interpretation. It is in fact, the law of the land and clearly stated in Article 1, Section 27 of the PA Constitution and ratified by the majority of the people of PA, and naming every PA citizen as a stakeholder.

Article 1, Section 27 PA Constitution: "The people have a right to clean air, pure water, and to the preservation of the natural scenic, historic, and esthetic values of the environment. Pennsylvania’s public natural resources are the common property of ALL the people, including generations yet to come. As trustees of these resources, the Commonwealth shall conserve and maintain them for the benefit of ALL people."

Do you people think letting the media in to the meeting is going to change anything? The only thing that will come from that is the very own opinion of he or she doing the reporting.
