We have between 20-35 million illegals in this country. Citizenship via amnesty will then lead to chain immigration. You think 20-35 million is a lot? Just wait until they sponsor their parents, spouses, kids, aunts/uncles, cousins, and friends!

Don't forget the illegals are producing an estimated 300,000 - 500,000 anchor babies each year. As CITIZENS, they will be able to sponsor also.

Now watch the libs start squawking that there are only 12 million illegals. They aren't smart enough to realize that is the same number the government has been using for the last 15 years!

In addition, since the announcement of impending amnesty, the number of illegals crossing the border very day has DOUBLED according to the border guards and those who live near the border.

CaveFelem - You are correct, the unemployment numbers spouted by the Administration and the MSM do not reflect the truth. We have more citizens and non-citizens competing for fewer jobs, lower pay and giving up completely. Congress and the President wants Immigration reform, maybe we ought to get the jobs situation fixed before opening the floodgates of Immigration reform first.

CMReeder - Your statement has absoluely nothing to do with what has been happening in Cyprus. The big money was moved before the "haircut" was put in place. It's the average Cypriot Joe and Jane who are bearing the brunt of the matter.

You do realize that Cyprus is Europe's, especially Russia, version of the Cayman Island offshoring accounting.

I was reading various articles online to catch up on the news (I don't have cable TV).

This is what I came away with: labor force participation is at May 1979 levels, the unemployment numbers are low because people who have given up looking for work are not counted, 15% of the country receive food stamps, and Social Security Disability claims and participants are nearly 9 million. People are turning to disability because they cannot find work and are desperate.

We cannot continue down the path of fewer and fewer workers supporting more and more non workers. It's unsustainable.

"Where are the Martin Luther Kings, the John Lennons, the John Kennedys, and the other great Americans who understood what a "free" Republic was capable of?"

Their beliefs have been rejected by the liberals of today. Those men would never stand a chance earning a liberal's vote or respect.

In late 2007 and into 2008, House Democrats (they were in control of both the Senate and House) debated in committee a proposal to confiscate all retirement accounts in the United States for use to prop up the banking system.

In return, citizens would receive a voucher from the Social Security Administration for their money and guarantee a 3% rate of return. No more, no less.

In Cyprus, the original plan was to confiscate all savings, but protests forced a change to those accounts over 100,000 Euros.

The Democrats already proposed this for us.

Remember, liberals see all money as theirs and what you get to keep is a blessing from your progressive masters.

Excellent letter, Mr. Erdman.

I'm anxiously awaiting the drivel that will spew forth from the liberals.
