Am I reading this correctly? State funding fell through. The developer can't go forward. But the city and the county are going to dump money into this project anyways? The half million dollars quoted in the past for local dollars being used can't be applied to another project? Seems to me there are things like sewer laterals that could be replaced..etc. The impact money could be used for streets? So many pet projects receive so much attention and funding while the rest of the city falls apart. Most of the streets in this city are more patched holes then they are paving. I can not see how even part of the streets are ever going to be repaired for decades to come. Taxes keep increasing. Water and sewer rates keep increasing. the city becomes more and more in disrepair. The average citizen sees little benefit in many of these projects.
