Bombs a greater threat

April 18, 2013

Personally, after the Boston marathon today, maybe President Obama should ban bombs as well as the guns! I'm more afraid of the bombs than the guns! Gretchen H....

Well we obviously need more and stronger laws restricting the use of bombs. After all, that's the argument the left is using on guns. And we all know that all that is stopping society from being a peaceful Kumbyah bunch are well written laws.

I've been waiting for this thread. Can't wait to see our friends on the left post here.

We need laws banning backpacks, briefcases, diaper bags, large purses, overnight bags, suitcases and the like. After all, any of those can contain a bomb! I call on Congress for such legislation to be written and passed.

If anything, the bombings and murders in Boston reinforce the idea that we are not insulated from the problems of this world. We are right in the middle of it and is this event a harbinger of what lies ahead for America? The only reason why our society works is that we all agree to abide by the laws that we the people have established. It is when a just a handful of malcontent people baulk that it becomes obvious that there is little glue that holds us together as a people. If and when that happens, you may wish that you had invested in that semi automatic weapon when you had the chance!

In the last few days, we have seen knives used to attack large groups of people.

We have seen pressure cookers used to attack large groups of people.

We have seen anhydrous amonia tanks explode and devastate large groups of people.

I am looking forward to President Obama and Sen Feinstein to add these deadly articles to their legislation.

After all, who really needs a pressure cooker or big knife? We must stop fertilizing our food with chemicals.

If we can just save one life, it is right that we ban these items.

Do it for the children.

The bottom line is that if someone wants to kill you badly enough, there isn't much you can do to stop them. ESPECIALLY when it comes to terrorist attacks. I commend the Boston Police Dept, FBI, and all the many medical facilities in Boston for doing an admirable job in response to the incident. Unfortunately, all the preparation in the world still makes it impossible to prevent the incidents. Is there more that can be done? I'm sure there is, but I still don't believe it'll prevent these things from happening. It's so easy for someone to 'slip by unnoticed' with a backpack or purse or some other type of bag or device. What happened is terrible, unfortunate, and I pray to God it never happens here. But I don't believe that there is much we can do to prevent it from happening. That's the harsh reality of it all.

The right shows how insensitive and dumb they really are.

My prayers go out to Boston citizens and the people injured and families who lost family members due to this cowardly act. The right can go to .....!

Chuck, Where was that sentiment after Sandy Hook? Where was your outrage after Benghazi? You are a left wing hack who will support anything King Obama throws your way.

I would be, as well...if more convenience-store hold-ups, domestic-assaults & "drive-bys" were committed, with bombs.

My heart goes out to the families Martin Richard, Krystle Marie Campbell and Lingzi Lu. You guys can make all the stupid comments you like. The Sun should have never printed this LTE in my opinion. Just a side note, the left here seems to show compassion the right, well, read for yourself.

Rather than lobbying-for or waiting-for such legislation to develop...you might sleep, better, if you'd move to a major-airport, somewhere.

As sad as this act was, if the left thinks that taking away our guns will create a safer environment for all, they need to think again. Bombs are the weapon of choice in the Middle East and they not only kill many people, they mame them. This is human nature and goes again to show that all the left really wants is to take our guns away and it has absolutely nothing to do with protecting the children. It is ONLY about having full control over American citizens and making us defenseless. It worked for Hitler. My prayers go out to all of the people killed/injured in the last several attacks with and without guns, but you cannot change the sinful nature of the human being.

"The right shows how insensitive and dumb they really are." Chuck Reeder

How is that exactly, Chuck? Did you say similar things when the left and the media immediately wondered aloud if the bomber was some white conservative upset on tax day? Or perhaps you were disappointed in Bawney Fwank saying that no tax cut would have prevented this? Maybe you has something to say to the Salon dot com writer that opined that if the bomber was anything but a white guy it would set back the Liberal agenda (or some such nonsense)?

And after that you are upset that a conservative uses this event to point out how stupid the anti-gun agenda is.

Did you not know Vince the right wing media is sure it is Muslim back attack and now republicans want to halt immigration reform because Muslim insurgents are trainint to pass for Mexican.

The right is insensitive and dumb and continue to show it. The left hasn't written a letter about the bombing and comparing it with guns.

I express that sentiment after those events however the right went into defensive mode after Sandy Hook and attack mode after Benghazi. And again without knowing all the facts you guys show how insensitive you are.

To top it all off this letter is using a tragic event to make a political statement. Something you on the right like to accuse the left of doing all the time. Goes to show the right isn't above turning a tragedy into a political statement.

That was just a theory Vince along with many others because most were already thinking it was some foreign terrorist. They even took in a Saudi here on a student visa a questioned him. I am sure most here will agree the media did not handle this very well. Strangely though, I found a Chinese web site that praises our media, as their media would not report this the way we do.

Keep on banning things, this is fun to read on my day off.
