Bomb control

April 19, 2013

To start, I mean no disrespect to any victims, or families, of any of these recent, heinous, acts of violence. It has brought more than one tear to my eyes. This is not intended to offend anyone....

Yes, shootings and bombings are a tragedy. What we all need to realize is that there is no fail safe way to prevent those intent on harming and killing others to do so, especially in the open, free society that is the United States of America. Taking away freedoms from law abiding citizens in the futile attempt to stop others from doing harm is not the answer.

You can never be free from risk......but snake oil salesmen (politicians) tell Americans to sacrifice a little more for false security.

"And today, Al Qaeda is on the run..." - President Obama, Oct 11 2012.

Yes they are, on the streets of Boston.

According to the article that I read, these two suspects actually attempted to throw a pressure cooker bomb at the police during the gun battle! Makes you wonder if they have the right suspects, doesn't it? Great job by the Boston police at tracking these guys down. My condolences to the family of the officer killed.

Joe Biden: "No Ordinary American Cares About Their Constitutional Rights"

I guess he's right when it comes to the leftists and their right to bear arms.

The real problem here is not with guns. The problem is with the health care system and its laws. When doctors determine someone is crazy and should not be allowed to have a gun they are not allowed to tell anyone under the HIPPA laws or whatever its called. We need a law that when someone is determined to be crazy the doctor must tell everyone, put a sign in their front yard, and tatoo "crazy" on thier forehead. That way all the normal people know to keep an eye on the crazy person and dont let them near any guns.

Watching the news unfold about the suspects in bombing. A lot of people are going to be answering questions on this. The right however is busy looking for cover.

" The right however is busy looking for cover. " Mr. Reeder

Why would you make that statement? I think most Americans( with the exception of the people with tattoos on thier foreheads) are hoping this other bomber guy is captured.

Well... billybob,

Based on your comment, you should qualify for a real BIG tatoo.

"I am so disgusted and confused, I don't even know which side of the fence I should even be on, anymore."

Mr Weisel, likewise, may of the similar thoughts have gone through my mind before about some of our officials and news organizations. Logic is abandoned for emotion. Truth is twisted and distorted for personal gain. Ears are tickled through eloquent words instead of watching actions. Big dreams and visions; little planning and execution. Promises fade away.

We are temporarily passing through this world with its "good" and "bad" and we should remain focus on eternity and eternal things. Houses, cars, possessions, wealth, political parties, power, and fame will be destroyed and cease. While God's love, His righteousness, and His Word will all endure forever.

The following verses give me comfort in times like these:

"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." --Philippians 3:12-14

At the end of the day, we are responsible for ourselves and our own thoughts and actions. We help other people and some help us but ultimately each is responsible for themselves.

To your comment "I don't even know which side of the fence I should even be on", the only answer is to be on God's side. "As for me and my household, we will serve The Lord." --Joshua 24:15

The world continues to become a more dangerous place and the left wants to limit law abiding citizens ability to defend themselves. They claim to have so much sympathy for the innocent victims of Sandy Hook but don't want members of school staffs to be allowed to be armed. Early on after the Boston Marathon Bombing, liberals in the media seemed almost gleeful when supposing that this had to be a right winger protesting tax day or gun control. Turns out it is one more instance of Islamic Terrorism. The left refuses to look at reality. When the right points out the fallacy of the lefts views by mockingly calling to ban pressure cookers the left still fail to see the flaws in their arguments.

Imagine this - it looks like the two people they are saying are the bombers weren't white guys who were upset on tax day. Who would have thunk it?

JH,

And hint of Muslim sympathizing on this forum, at this juncture, isn't appreciated, O.K.? Take your tolerance dream and go somewhere else with it. No one will argue that there are Muslims who genuinely want a different lifestyle than that of brutality and hate. The problem is rapidly becoming, how to ID the good guys from the bad. Most want to err on the side of caution. That's not racism, but realism.

Chuck,

"The right however is busy looking for cover."

Your statement is pathetic. Do you think these terrorists care if your are a Democrat or a Republican? They'll blow your legs off, just as quickly. Get it through your head. They hate "We The People" and for you to make trivial of the fear that is escalating in our country, because "the right is taking cover" is frankly, offensive to Americans. The Aunt is on FOX screaming their is no evidence, while an Uncle distanced himself and was not surprised. I hope the FBI puts her in their sites.

Wow. I'm kind of new to this stuff, so I'll try not to break any of your rules Mr. Miller. I'm just a bit surprised the Sun-Gazette let's you write the rules on the acceptance of religious intolerance and bigotry.

I hope this doesn't qualify me for one of Mr. Billybobs tattoos.

To see where they found the terrorist....Go to bing maps and put in the following address to see the boat with the cover on top in the backyard. 67 Franklin St Watertown? Massachusetts? 02472

Google maps has the boat trailer but no boat.

Good luck.

NBC reporting that the Obama admin will treat terrorist as a "criminal" and not enemy combatant. That's the way it should be and is supposed to work.
