Krazy, The fact that you spoke so flippantly, actually irrevently about the verse in question, speaks to your lack of knowledge spiritually about God's Word. But, without the Holy Spirit, you are incapable of discerning God's Word. So, in that resepct, you aren't responsible for "what seems foolish" to you.

Give me a break; that bible verse has nothing to do with gay marriage. But it does confirm that Obama was born in Kenya.

In the Bible, you should know then tha "In the days of Noah," such activities as sodomy were going on, along with many other sins. "Some men's sins go before them. others after them." With sodomy being more prevalent now, the wrtier used that one. Im assuming that she knows there were other sins that made God angry He had created man.

The Bible being used to "The problem arises when that interpretation is used to control the behavior of others."

That verse is being used properly, and in addition as Texas pointed out, there are additional events//atrocities that will preclude His Coming. Make no mistake..He is coming back and yes, each day is one day closer. Correct that no man kknows the hour or day, but a Biblical study of prophesy will reveal God's Word, not an interpretation, as people put it.

Spike, when God says, "Thous shalt not kill," - does that leave room for interpretation? The problem lies not in the "Thou shalt not kill", rather the remainder of God's Word and the other commandments that make people feel uncomfortable.

I agree with the point of this letter, just not the verse used to make that point.

SteelerFan is rightly interpreting the verse. Putting it in context of the verses that come before and after it makes it clear that the comparison Jesus was drawing between the Flood and the Second Coming was unexpectedness. How the letter writer extrapolated that to be a condemnation of gay marriage is beyond me, plenty of other verses can be used for that.

To select one increasing cultural trend to determine when Christ returns is short-sighted. There are various milestones and events that will occur to offering a fore-shadowing of when Christ will return. The key is to be prepared, be ready. It may or may not occur in your lifetime but everyday is one day closer.

Just goes to show, the Bible is interpreted based on one's own personal experience and agenda, which isn't a real problem in and of itself. The problem arises when that interpretation is used to control the behavior of others.
