Howard defines a whole new political force for me! Anti-gun, anti-slavery, pro-term limit, anti-internet (I'm reading this on the internet), anti-Democrat, anti- Republican, anti- greed....Is he a Libertarian, Socialist or this a new movement that I was unaware of?

So, it's our forefathers fault that we had a bombing in Boston because they wrote a vague document (the Constitution?) that allowed the internet (probably one of the greatest tools ever invented to share ideas and knowledge) because a couple of loons bent on hurting others used it for evil purposes. And it's apparent that Howard advocates giving up his rights (free speech, right to bear arms, and who knows what else) because he thinks it will somehow deter these cowards.

That's fine, Howard. Go ahead and get rid of your internet and anything else you want to give up. But leave my rights alone. And just so you're aware, there are places you can go where those rights aren't available. You'd feel perfectly comfortable after you've moved there, I'm sure.

Talk about going overboard. I think Howard might have skipped his medication a couple days there. Get a grip, Howard.

Whatever they are...they're (obviously) in-favor of "enacting" some kind o' "controls" to stop some kind o' "wholesale killing"....somewhere.

Gunpowder was invented 1200 years ago.

But we should regulate the internet to keep its formula secret.

Stupidity on display!

I'm guessing he's a good church-going American, as....theocrats were never big fans of Gutenberg's press (either).

Hate run amok. Howard needs to do some history research on that "vague document" before he belittles the document that created the most free and innovative country in the history of mankind. And, yes, with it's warts and all...........

Wow. I hate to break the bad news but books existed on building an explosive long before the internet. This might win the craziest LTE ever.

Howard Ebner~~"that piece of garbage called the internet to give instructions on how to kill people by making bombs and do any evil thing they desire."

The same internet that individuals gather instructions on "how to kill people by making bombs" also provides chatrooms and support groups for mentally unstable individuals. I would suggest you join one... Immediately.

So judgemental. While I agree that the letter is odd he does make a point. We are an information infused society and world and we as a society don't know how to control it.

Only silly people believe that a free flow of information should be controlled.

Hey Howard, if you hate this country so much, why don't you go to one where the government does control everything? You might find that the government only tries to control everything, but can't. Laws don't stop things from happening, they only restrict what law abiding citizens do. If everyone obeyed the law, our prisons would be empty. Bombs are illegal, but we still had a bombing. Murder and carrying a gun on school property are illegal, but we still have school shootings. Outlawing things does not stop crime, only stopping criminals will stop crime.

Phil,"Only silly people believe that a free flow of information should be controlled."

I think you meant stupid people, and they are not the only ones. Tyrants also believe that the free flow of information should be controlled..

I’ll add that as long as there’s a market that is satisfied by criminal activity there’ll be criminals and crime.

Enigma, I like silly people better because they aren’t necessarily stupid. The leaders know exactly what they’re doing and are pretty good at it.

Stupid people don't see a danger even when it blows up in their face.

I would say the silliest person of all is the person who sees a need to reply to every one of Phil's post with nonsensical replies.
