April 26, 2013

I can't believe our president. What he says so eloquently and promises he does not do. For our president, What Hope and Change meant was bigger and more government for all Americans....

Barack Obama is a master magician using smoke and mirrors to distract his adoring followers while he places us at the opening of his trap. Are we past the point of no return? We shall soon see!

Bud, I agree with pretty much everything, but you're going to have to explain the statement "He said he would get rid of the lobbyists in Washington, DC. He replaced them with union and environmentalists lobbyists."

1) lobbyists never left

2) unions exist for the betterment of the employees they represent. They have always lobbied for their employees and backed politicians who's ideals have aligned with the people of the union. So, they have always been there.

Are you advocating giving up the First Amendment Right to Petition the Government for a redress of grievances? Lobbyists are a vital part of doing just that.

Buff:

Yes, a trillion may be a stretch, but near $100 billion is more accurate.

But, if you sum the amount spent since the 1970s on green energy, it would total several trillion.

The track record of companies in which the Obama Admin invested is dismal.

The sequester will only cut $44 billion this year.

Let me list some positives: gas is down, stock market is up, if you are a healthy male you can have a job in PA, no one has invaded us, I can travel and do whatever I want as long as I do not infringe upon anyone else and can afford it. We have nut jobs in our country but they usually get caught if they do something really terrible. We have a beautiful country to live in with most people being really nice people. We have elections by majority to put in office the best people that the system offers us. Any one of us can run for office if we desire to do so. We can ***** and complain without worrying about going to jail. We can carry an AR-15 to a political rally and not get arrested. Most of us can tolerate a differing opinion without stooping to name calling which is a sign of something.

Don, gas prices are down compared to when? The average national price per gallon the day before he took office was $1.838. I'd say the prices are UP, not down. Maybe Obama should approve that Keystone Pipeline?

Name calling, I agree. But it is fun sometimes to return the favor.

Current unemployment rate in PA is 7.9%, so I don't believe that EVERY able bodied person who wants a job can find one.

There is much improvement that could be seen. But I guess we have seen worse.

...But, regained consciousness...right after 8 years (2001-2009) of enriching those folks, heavily invested in our weapons-industry...after they'd gotten tax-cuts...right BEFORE BU$HCO pulled-the-pin on War. What timing, huh?

You really should double-check your "facts".

It was (instead) GEORGE BU$H who'd committed us to War...against the wrong Country.

If anything...gas-pricing is more STABLE, presently...as-opposed-to yo-yo pricing, during BU$HCO's reign of errors...and, Keystone Pipeline??? What, we'll be getting a bulk, of our gasoline, from CHINA, in the future??!!! I had no idea that was their long-term plan, for the Keystone Oil that will be shipped to them (compliments o' the Big Oil boys, in Texas).

Bud, letter writer, you are not old, you are in touch with reality in which many are not. We are seeing what is happening and are smart enough to know who is causing the problems in this country and it was NOT Bush. The unemployment rate is horrible, gas prices up, food prices up, healthcare higher than ever and going much higher with less care and our dictator has accomplished what he set out to do - divide and conquer the US. Bringing America down from the inside all the while saying what the people want to hear and blindly follow him. He is a disgrace and it shows after nearly 5 years of this mess and the worst is yet to come.

Specifically...you're correct. It's Lil' Dumbya's long-overdue credit-card balance (for which we're paying SERIOU$ intere$t, presently), that's sapping our Treasury.

Sham,"It's Lil' Dumbya's long-overdue credit-card balance (for which we're paying SERIOU$ intere$t, presently), that's sapping our Treasury."

You are an idiot, a liar or both. Do you know what the interest rate on a treasury Bill is now? Some of them are as low as 0%. The increase in the debt is all spending. Yes, Bush spent too much, but that does not excuse the out of control Obama spending. How can you complain about Bush's spending and debt and give Obama a pass? That's just pure hypocrisy.

On a related issue, it drives me crazy when people confuse deficit and debt. They are not the same thing people. Obama did not promise to cut the debt in half, he promised to cut the deficit in half. He doubled it instead. It would appear he's just not good with fractions. 1/2 vs 2/1, or maybe he's just a liar like Sham.

"He doubled it instead."

Enigma, you're either an idiot, a liar, or both. According to CS Monitor, Politifact, and FactCheck the deficit registered $1.4 T for budget year ending 2009. It came in at $1.3T in both 2010 and 2011. For fiscal year ending 2012, it came in at $1.1T.

This post is not condoning the deficit, just that you should get your facts straight.
