"Cyber school and charter school attendees also place a heavy financial burden on the school district... the district spent an estimated $400,000 on charter and cyber school tuition in the 2012-13 school year."

I hate to burst everyone's bubble but, the school district does NOT pay for cyber school out of their own pocket. The tax money is forfeited to the cyber/charter schools for that student attending. Why would I pay taxes to MHS when my kid attends cyber school? And behavior challenged children doesn't necessarily mean the kids are bad by choice; some of which are actually diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, and/or other mood disorders. While some of these kids are bullied and act out, because the schools do very little to engage in proactive measures to stop the mental abuse of bullying.

Cyber School student money is free money to each school district. The "lie" that cyber cost money is just that a lie. The school district still gets the largest portion of those tax dollars for doing nothing. The cyber school is passed on a lessor portion of the allotment for the child.

Simple implement a tuition to the parents of cyberschool kids, it is not our fault these kids a bad or need to be homeschooled so make the parents responsible.
