The reason Tom Corbett has not reversed the moratorium is because he wants to get re-elected, then watch out, that will be the first thing he does because we all know he is a gas industry puppet. As for believing DCNR that the gas industry tries to minimize the effects of gas drilling in our forests, sell that to someone who will buy it, just another puppet for the gas industry. Take one drive to the mountains surrounding the Pine Creek Valley and you will see just how concerned the gas industry is about keeping the natural look of the forest...what a fracking joke.

>pincer, you nailed it! What a fracking joke indeed. For those that have been living under a rock and did not know: Tom Corbett, Richard Allan, & DCNR are the most corrupt politicians ever to hold office. The mountains around Pine Creek and below English Center, Larry's Creek are already littered with gas well pads. Soon to become industrial wastelands once a spill or an explosion and fire occur. Keep out of the Loyalsock State Forest ! KEEP IT WILD !!!

Want to hear something negative about Rock Run area not concerning the gas industry? No? Well to bad here it is if you know anything of the area you'll know the reason the area has been closed to camping etc is because of a bunch if slobs years ago way before big gas did nothing but litter the crap out of it so their is your pristine wilderness like it or not it's the truth

Garden:

Many of these whiners only want to use the forest for dumping their garbage, drinking underage, dropping off unwanted pets and setting up meth labs.

A 24 hour presence by the gas industry disrupts those plans.

Royalties are no less by the way Francine do you recall what DCNR got for the leases? No? Over $4000 per acre so take that to the bank as most of the private land owners got screwed and ended up with crappy $100 per acre early leases do your homework you'll see. It all comes down to those who cry the most stand losing the least, as most have no play in the gas

Garben78, we had the same problem with garbage and trespassers on our land when we lived on 87. I hired a company to install 6 security cameras on our property, now remember pictures don't lie.

While we were on vacation we had seismic testing people and natural gas people on our property and we did not lease. They left behind their garbage and even used my hose to rinse off their boots, of course all on video.

We turned the video over to the State Police and the companies were fined for trespassing and littering on our property and we never had a problem after that and even though we sold the house the new owners are still using the cameras.
