Tip of the Iceberg

April 28, 2013

The dastardly Boston marathon bombing was an act of terror, and no sane person can deny that fact. Another fact that cannot be denied is this: The plot succeeded exactly as planned....

Hmmmm.

Are you upset that daily routine was halted for a brief peroid or upset that a bombing occurred or that the Boston police along with federal agencies stopped those two from doing inflicting more harm? Daily routine is back and the people are once more reminded to be vigilant of possible terror attacks.

What you should be upset with is that after 9/11 government agencies where suppose to pool information on possible terror suspects and they are not. An exchange of information between the FBI and CIA probably would have made a closer look at the older brother. Russia alerted but would not release their information on him. We discussed free flow of information and yet willingly block it.

Good comment, Chuck.

I would add, in regard to the writer's Israel comparison, Israel's population is much smaller, its borders much smaller, its borders are greatly secured, and Israel is not shackled by out-of-control "political correctness" which prevents them from openly acknowledging where problems are likely to originate.

This incident is the first successful terror attack on U.S. soil since 9/11/2001"

Both the DC sniper attacks and the anthrax letters happened after Sept 11th, 2001.

Four airplanes hi-jacked on 9/11 and thousands of people killed. For a little while our busy nation slows down and ponders what is important in life. Many turn back to families for love; many turn back to God, for a while.

The same happens when Katrina pounds the Gulf Coast region; people's homes are destroyed and people are displaced. People help people, love is shared and God is looked to for hope and sustaining power, for a while.

The story repeats when children are murdered in Columbine; the nation rallies around the community to provide prayers and support while looking to God, for a while.

The same theme with different story line and series of events play out in Arizona, NJ/NY (Sandy), Lycoming Co. (flooding), Sandy Hook, and now at the Boston marathon.

God has gotten our attention; we need to repent, turn our hearts to God, and sustain our relationships with Him.

You are correct, Jerry. More specifically, they were Jihadist terrorism and bio-terrorism, respectively.

Texas- couldn't have said it better myself. How can a country founded on Christian values survive when we've (they've) turned God into the enemy and expelled Him from the country He formerly blessed? I believe He will watch over His children but will let the leadership continue it's folly and pay the price.

"...(they've) turned God into the enemy and expelled Him from the country."

That statement is the pinnacle of absurdity. The law does not tell John Zook how or how he may not pray. During the course of human history there has been REAL religious persecution, modern American life isn't it.

We also had the Fort Hood shooting and the Arkansas Recruiter shooting.

We got lucky with the underwear bomber and the Times Square bomber.

There have been 5 terrorists who reached their targets in a little more than four years under President Obama.

Fort Hood was classified "workplace violence", admin officials have ended the use of "war on terror" and a President who rushed to say that the Cambridge police "acted stupidly" scolds citizens to "not jump to conclusions".

The worst thing is we are so politically correct now, and obsessed with not offending anyone, that we won't face reality and call a spade a spade - there are Muslims here who hate us, want to hurt us and kill us.

I saw pictures of US citizens being taken out of their homes, at gunpoint, so police could search their homes for the bomber. One woman was barefoot and looked terrified. The 1st and 4th Amendments to the Constitution were simply suspended, all in the name of public safety. What ever happened to search warrants? Is it OK now for the police to just barge into your home?

And the icing on the cake? The bombers received welfare benefits. They hate our country, but that didn't stop them from taking our money.

This whole situation disgusts me.

Our immigration policies are not toothless, they have been muzzled. The administration has decided that it is more important to control legal U.S. citizens than to prosecute illegal aliens (now there's a term you don't hear anymore; all part of the left's attack on this country).

Yup, the USDA has said that food stamps are available to illegal aliens as the gov't does not even ask about citizenship.

We on the right are not so concerned with emotion as are leftists. In a rational discussion, logic and reason matter, feelings do not. It would have been much a more apropos question to have asked what he thought about that.

Since IMHO facts and logic are useless in a conversation about how the lefts goals are the destruction of the country, then why not ask how he feels about it. Is he angry or scared, does he feel helpless to stop it, or maybe he is looking forward to it. Who knows... Maybe he'll tell us.

Proves my point that leftism is exclusively about emotion. Rationality and logic have no place in leftism. You do things because it makes you feel better about yourselves, not because it does what it is purported to do. It is because of the overwhelming emotionality of leftism that more women, who tend to be more emotional than men, are leftists.

More on peaceful(?)muslims:

Taliban militants say they have attacked a US airbase in Afghanistan’s southern province of Kandahar with rockets.

Press TV reported:

The Taliban have said they have launched a coordinated attack on the largest U.S. base in southern Afghanistan.

A spokesperson for the Taliban has said they have attacked Kandahar airfield with rockets and explosives.

More than 10,000 U.S.-led soldiers and foreign contractors are based on the airfield and the base is a major hub for U.S.-led operations in the south of the country.

The attack came one day after the Taliban announced its spring offensive against foreign forces in Afghanistan and said it would step up its attacks on military and diplomatic sites.

Obama’s meetings with the Taliban are really working working wonders, aren’t they?

Let's just take at face value what you say is true. How is it that two hundred years of democracy have yielded a group of citizens so easily manipulated? How is it that the conservative forces of failed so miserably to stop it?

When the left admits their goal is to "fundamentally transform America", and has the constant drumbeat of communism, who needs to produce any other facts concerning their desire to destroy this country?

That's my point exactly Bobbie, that as long as people have free will, as long as they are free to choose for themselves, there are always going to be groups of people who may choose path contrary to the path we would choose for ourselves.

Are you any more right to tell them they are wrong then for them to tell you the same.

Live and let live Bobbie.

I'm curious, do you actually know what communism is? I'm not trying to be witty or mock you in jest - modern democrats are as close to communist are they are to being astronauts. I mean, if you were claiming some lean Socialist, then I'd at least give audience to the conversation but to just say democrats are communists just makes you sounds ignorant.

Why yes, Jerry, I do know what communism is. This from dictionarydotcom:

com·mu·nism [kom-yuh-niz-uhm] noun

1. a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state.

2. ( often initial capital letter ) a system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party.

Now, tell me that definition number [2.] does not aptly describe the modern Democrap Party's goals and objectives. Do they, or do they not wish to control every aspect of everyday life for as many comrades as possible? Have they not pandered and fearmongered the citizenry with the goal of attempting to be the single, self-perpetuating party in control? They're communists.
