Knife control

April 28, 2013

I just saw on Fox News that an alleged violator stabbed/slashed (with some sort of knife) 14 students at Lone Star College in West Houston, TX....

Pretty close. Just add a 1970's ****-style mustache.

We need a law making crime illegal! That ought to stop those pesky criminals in their tracks!

I searched for Pompous Internet Trolls for kicks to see what it said about one of our posters here who delights in just kicking people without an original thought. What do you know, I found a picture of Shammy!

See: How to Identify and Defeat an Internet Troll

I think it is a lovely likeness.

Jerry:

I explain the war on the big gulp as evidence of how far off the edge we have gone in this country.

We started a revolution over a tax on tea.

Imagine if the British outlawed large tea?

"The one thing that the author forgot is that there is no Constitutional right to own knives. Because of this, there is no reason for liberals to outlaw them."

If liberals only outlaw what is Constitutionally protected, then how do you explain the war on the big gulp?

The one thing that the author forgot is that there is no Constitutional right to own knives. Because of this, there is no reason for liberals to outlaw them. Gun control is about people control and destroying the Constitution, not keeping people safe. If they wanted to keep people safe, they would enforce the laws we already have. By not enforcing existing law, they can keep telling us we need more laws, which will eventually get them to the law they really want and you'd better believe they will start enforcing them then.

There are millions of ways to commit murder.

You cannot ban or control most of those ways.

History shows that liberals are never satisfied with current firearm controls, but return, time and again, for expanded restrictions.

They cannot deny this.

It is wrong to bring knives into a gun-control argument, in my opinion. This false comparison allows gun-control advocates to divert from the fact that their arguments are not supported by the facts.

Many products will produce death and injury when not used responsibly and/or lawfully. These products should be discussed as separate issues.

Chuck, as for cutting meat, you shouldn't be eating meat. It is bad for you. It is full of cholesterol and fat. By not eating meat we will help Obama stay within budget for his health care plan. Shame on you Chuck! Go Vegan!! But, make sure not harvest your lettuce in a violent manner. Make sure you speak to it and let it know how much you respect it before you harvest it with your blunt scissors.

All pointed scissor should be banned. Only the rounded ones that elementary students have should be allowed. Think of all the violent attacks we could prevent. Think of all the accidental nicks that could be prevented. I just can't believe we can't come together on this common sense proposal. Nobody needs sharp pointed scissors and innocent victims demand to be heard!!!

How many died in the knife attack in Texas? How many died in the school shooting in Connecticut?

No feeling of being so helpless than standing there empty handed when a person comes at you with a knife or gun in their hands. I was never a boy scout, but I believe in their motto: "Be Prepared!"

A closed mind is a wonderful thing to waist. Fox gets most of it's news from AP -- the same source most other news outlets get theirs. The only difference between Fox and, say, CBS, ABC, NBC, etc., is the selection.

Don't want your opinion to be influenced by the facts, Jerry. lol

Knife control? Don't laugh. A doctor's group in UK proposed banning sale and possession (even in one's home) of butcher knives with blades longer than 6 inches.

It is truly delusional to believe that a person with intent to break the law prohibiting murder will suddenly stop.....and decide not to murder because yet another law says it is illegal to possess a weapon.

The mis-named "gun control" laws restrict only law abiding citizens, not the criminals.

Then how are you going to cut your meat?

Dumbest letter of the day! Remember knives don't kill people people kill people. All you need is a good guy with a knife.
