The Constitution speaks of "Natural Rights" given by the "Creator". Man was meant to be free, not to be ruled over by a class of Elitists. See the phrase, "....all men are created equal.." See how we have failed in that promise with power and greed infecting the souls of men (and women). It is self evident that since the Industrial Revolution, society has changed. Remember, during Lincoln's presidency, you could just walk into the White House to have a "chat" with him. The politicians in those days were just men doing their civic duty. Look what we have turned into......And don't go to the "slavery" thingie Libs. I know victim hood is the blood running through your veins but that's a whole 'nother subject for another time; lets stay on subject on this one....please.

Reeder- so much hatred and condescension. I've gone through the death of my father, brother and my wife, with a couple of nervous breakdowns thrown in, and I can still enjoy life. The age of enlightenment freed us from rule by monarchies and religion and was the basis for the founding of the US. Now we have progressives and social conservatives wanting to take us back to autocratic rule.

Do the rights apply to all people or only US citizens?

Is that why we keep the terrorist in Gitmo so that they don't experience the same rights as a US citizen but instead are subject to military order?

Or is that why some people want to extend all rights (like voting, driving, education, jobs with no visa, etc) to aliens and illegal aliens?

Big governments create a dependency such that the people make government their god. Jesus Christ is the king on his throne in heaven and there will be a time when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that he is Lord (the loving, caring, just, and sustaining autocrat). Many religions are counterfeits, they shackle people's minds, and lead away from Jesus.

All people are endowed with natural rights. The Constitution guarantees those rights to US citizens. Natural rights can only be restricted or denied by governments.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by Jesus Christ (God) with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. - That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."

Terrorists, criminals and illegal aliens have forfeited some of their "natural rights" by attempting to destroy our nation. Terrorists and criminals intentionally attempt to destroy our nation. Illegal aliens destroy our nation with less malice, but are no less dangerous, if left unchecked.

While I do not condone what some of the Republican party has done to the "governance" of America, but you on the left have swallowed the blue pill of deceit and knowingly entered into the socialist paradigm that has historicall.
