Misguided acceptance

May 5, 2013

On April 24, 2013, I learned on the Fox News that a girl had to remove her support our troop’s tee shirt. She wore it because her father is in the military and the Middle East....

No one shot up the marathon, it was twp bombs. I guess the rule applies across the board, as to wording on shirts. One exception means many more will want the same.

Restrictions on shirts was usually limited to foul language.

Today, it is the home of political correctness....so we do not offend someone.

Frankly, if you get offended by a shirt, you need to grow up.

The t shirt thing on Fox may or may not be true. Fox named a famous actress as the Marathon bomber also during the search for the culprits. Not very accurate but sure is sensational news and entertaining. :)

Ida, stop drinking the Fox kool-aid. If you were honest in your letter, you would have noted that the event in question was at a school with a dress code. The school allows kids to wear t shirts on casual day. The middle school is the one in question and since the high school permits such t shirts it seems logical that the middle school will follow suit. You colored the story to fit your narrative. Google the story and read it.

Schools don't allow 'message' T-shirts. They have found it is disruptive.

For the rest of your letter you should have checked your own anger and hatred.

I have found different stories that are basically the same Middle schooler(boy and girl) sent home because of military message T-shirt even from a military base. Even college age. Wonder how truthful the story is?

Ida watches FOX news? Who would have thought.

However, it pains me do say this but I will have to agree with erik, sorry my friends on the left, on his statement "Frankly, if you get offended by a shirt, you need to grow up."

Reeder- "For the rest of your letter you should have checked your own anger and hatred." To the master of anger and hatred; please explain where the anger and hatred was in that letter.

"On April 24, 2013, I learned on the Fox News...." That says enough right there. What is "THE" Fox News, and how do you learn anything from them?

Just to clear things up here, Ida Temple is wrong again. NOWHERE on the shirt in question did it say "Support the Troops". The shirt in fact read:

"One family under god, indivisible, the force behind the force."

"Frankly, if you get offended by a shirt, you need to grow up."

You realize you're talking about children in a middle school right?

You do realize it is administrators in schools that set policy, right?

I not only know that erik, but I also know who the rules are set for, and even what the shirt actually said.

Was it Fox news or this letter's author that misrepresented what the shirt read?

Both Jerry. National Fox "News" misrepresented what was on the shirt. Local Fox claimed the girl was "expelled", but the local affiliate showed video of the girl wearing the shirt, which said "this is the shirt". Ida's letter is factually incorrect, again.

"On April 24, 2013, I learned on the Fox News that a girl had to remove her support our troop's tee shirt. She wore it because her father is in the military and the Middle East. Why does it seem that our constitutional government has abandoned the constitution and appears to be more dictatorial?" - Ida Temple

...Not-to-mention Rupert Murdoch's (OTHER) outlet...The NY Post...insisting an arrest had been made...until Boston's Chief-Of-Police "corrected" THAT error.

It's astounding how many lies you can catch these people in, as they fumble around trying to create faux outrage.

"Oh good lord, a kid got sent home from school for wearing a t shirt, because it didn't have a collar. Wait, I know. Let's claim the shirt said "support the troops", and the school sent the kid home because of what was written on the shirt."

What a bunch of gobbledygook.

"You do realize it is administrators in schools that set policy, right?"

It is complaining parents who threaten administrators that do. After this incident the school is reonsidering it's policy.
