Catch-22

May 7, 2013

Let's be honest and separate the illegal acts from the legal acts when it comes to the Dr. Gosnell trial. As far as the anti-choice people are concerned, all abortion is wrong and therefore illegal....

Champion birth control all day long Chuck and I'm behind you 100%, but causing the deaths of innocent children through horrible means and I will oppose you 'til the cows come home! What this Dr did was murder children for profit. No one forced him to do it. He did it because he could. So don't go blaming other people for this man's crimes.

How about abstinence? ******s? Oral Contraceptives (which are relatively cheap despite what some from the left want you to believe)? Failure to take precautions before having sex to ensure you don't get pregnant doesn't make using abortion as a contraceptive method any more appealing or acceptable.

Chuck - can you think of any problem at all where your solution to it does not require more government regulation? Perhaps you can reflect on government's stellar track record in solving all our problems as support for your continued push in that direction. Yes, Chuck, that was satire there.

I also chuckled (pun intended) at you bringing race into the discussion. Typical Liberal tactic that never works.

But why is it that you completely ignore the idea of these poor black or immigrant women having any self-responsibility? Perhaps if government had a goal of making people be responsible for themselves in their life choices, then I might have different opinions here.

If Dr. Gosnell would have collapsed their skulls or snipped their spinal cords while still in the birth canal, all would still be right in the world.

I knew after the first 3 lines who this lte was from. Reeder is one of the most flaming liberals around, and everything he writes reflects it.

So, Chuck, why don't you just advocate for these women to give birth normally, which Medicaid will pay for, and then kill their babies after they are born? Wouldn't that cost a lot less than what they had to pay Dr. Gosnell? The end result would be the same and these women wouldn't have that financial burden.

Do you disagree with my premise Chuck? If so, why?

Mr. Reeder attempts to justify the infanticide of poor, black babies.

Another sad part of Chuck bringing race into the debate is that is is nothing more than a Liberal dog whistle. Chuck is simply saying that those minorities don't know how to take care of themselves and have to rely on government because they can't survive without it. All Liberal policies are based on that racist and sexist belief. Look at what any Liberal says with that in mind and you will better understand what drives them.

Pro-abortionists, such as the author of the tripe in this letter, want no live births under any circumstances, especially minority babies. They're racists and murderers. What can we expect from them?

Abortion without parental concent, welfare for unwed mothers, free ******s in school, plan B contraceptives for 15 year olds, etc. are are bandaids on the real problem which is turning away from God's plan for the human race and the institution of marriage that He created.

The only cure for this whole mess is a society that changes its mind, turns back to God, and places faithful marriage in a high place of importance.

God loves; He can and will forgive, even those that had abortions. Ask God for forgiveness and let Him heal and renew your heart and mind. Turn back to Him and follow Him. His ways are perfect and just.

Chuck is so filled with anger and hatred fueled by his blind ideological thinking, that all reason and logic has left him. Pity the man. Ignore his ranting, but pity him, liberalism is a sad and lonely place to live.

Mr. Reeder, How do you justify thinking that black women are predisposed to being poor and needing all the gov't. services you listed? You can grow up poor but once you reach teen/young adulthood you have choices and options. You don't have to settle for STAYING poor. You can get your education and take responsibility for your life and your actions.Yes, it takes work. Most things in life that are worth having take work.Birth control is easily available, some places for free.Personal responsibility has to come into play at some point. You are doing no favors for these women by giving them a pass or making excuses for them. They all have the opportunity to make more of thier lives and not be dependent on the gov't. for everything.

Gosnell murdered babies. Period. I am liberal, pro-choice and believe we should provide birth control to those who can not afford it. I would convict Gosnell.

The paper edited a sentence out of my letter. These are the same women that the right calls whores and lazy and shiftless and a burden and they are not going to have 'their' money going to them.

That is all I am going to say on my letter, just posting the omission.

I do not believe in abortion, but it is the law of the land and until that changes, I will defend the law even as repulsive as I find it. However, what this doctor did was not only deplorable, but the lack of proper oversight by the state makes the state just as culpable. The solution here, as in most cases, is not more laws, but proper enforcement of existing laws, the protection of whistle blowers and the swift prosecution of those who break the existing laws.

I'm going to add this comment as an aside because Dr Gosnell is involved in this letter. Do you think the media would be reporting on the 3 women kidnapped in Cleveland and rescued yesterday if they had been held captive in Dr Gosnell's basement?

Chuck,

"You can place as many bans against abortion as you can think of but when a woman does not want to go through a pregnancy for whatever reason she will find a way to end it. How in a state with some of the toughest abortion laws did state health regulators not see what was going on?"

Now, it's someone else's fault because these women "did not want to go through a pregnancy?"

"Poor women, mostly black and immigrant, sought out Dr. Gosnell, often waiting late into a pregnancy for an abortion because it takes time for someone who is poor to raise the funds for an abortion and it did not deter them in their quest to end the pregnancy."

"In their quest?" How about their journey down the canal, screaming (silently or not) while these babies were being mangled alive?

Chuck,

"They demand that cuts be made to programs designed for this group and their offspring. "

We are not animals, these babies were not offspring, they were human beings/children.

"The anti-choice people claim that liberal ideals make Dr. Gosnell possible. Conservative cuts and bans make Dr. Gosnell possible.

A state government unwilling to regulate makes Dr. Gosnell possible."

Chuck, you stoop to a new low. You justify a murderer's actions by placing blame elsewhere? Stop the blame game! Only two parties are responsible, the women/girls and the butcher himself.

nobud,

" However, what this doctor did was not only deplorable, but the lack of proper oversight by the state makes the state just as culpable."

Neither the state, nor any law of the land, demands someone take the life of another. Gosnell picked the scalpel up and extricated untold innocent lives each day he went to his horror chamber. We have to stop blaming others for actions we voluntarily make.
