Someone please hand me a gun to shoot my face everytime I read about these idiots. "gone" how is social studies just gone, couldnt find money to pay a teacher for a true school subject, Im sure there was money for art projects or to send your kids on that field trip Mr. Engle, I bet while your kids were playing pee-wee football that program was well funded also. How can these retards think they are doing a good job when your taking away real learning. You have a reading program that teachers just cobble toghether. Seriously? No wonder why this school district is listed 39th from the bottom in the state. Hey John what are your kids doing this year that the district needs the extra money?

openpagov**** is an excellent website were you can see the salaries of any school district employee anywhere in the state. You can search by name, or district and realize how much money we are spending on the complete losers to take away true learning and fund whatever their kids are doing for that year. I hate these bastards. And the nerve to ask for more money to fund their own kids WAY TO GO!

"how is social studies just gone"? Doubt it was a lack of finding or paying a teacher, but more the PSSA tests that were behind it.

Something must have changed with the PSSA tests is my guess. This is something that has had me steamed as a parent of a South kid. All through elementary (k-6) my child had little or no culture taught - the curriculum was all PSSA, PSSA, PSSA... Finally in 7th & 8th grade we started having some history, but still a heavy PSSA mentality. Our kids are being programmed to take standardized tests, not to learn or think.

well, isn't this interesting. of course, I know all of you have been attending the meetings so obviously you are all well informed. Fromtheport, you certainly have lowered yourself to a level not eveyone is willing to go to. I can only assume you teach your kids to behave in this manner. Good for you sir. Education starts at home.

This is just a guess, but...I can't believe there are that many teachers who'd claim credit for the "real learning" you've experienced; primarily English-teachers.
