Imposing beliefs

May 17, 2013

In response to Melissa Brown's letter printed on 5/13/13, I'm compelled to say this: As a Christian, I'm convinced you'll answer to God for your abortions and so will our nation as a whole for......

John Andrew Welden, 28, faces a FIRST-DEGREE MURDER CHARGE and a life in prison for allegedly giving a woman a bottle of abortion-inducing drugs, which he told her were harmless antibiotics.

The paper noted that while a SIX-WEEK-OLD FETUS would not be considered viable in state court, federal law does not acknowledge the distinction.

If someone kills an UNBORN child while committing a federal crime, it is CONSIDERED MURDER, Tampa lawyer Todd Foster, a former assistant U.S. Attorney and FBI agent, said.

Andrew Welden had forged the doctor's signature on a prescription for Cytotec - an abortion-inducing drug - and re-labeled the bottle as Amoxycillin, according to a federal prosecutor.

Welden admitted the switch in a confession recorded by Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives, the prosecutor said. A drugstore surveillance camera captured him buying Cytotec, the Times reported.

Gosnell was given a choice of the possibility of the death sentence or a guarantee of a life sentence if he gave up his right to appeal. Isn't it ironic that given the choice between life and death Gosnell chose life? Too bad his victims and the millions of other aborted children are denied that choice.

A LOT-of-people feel the same way about Wars-of-choice/Wars-for-OIL...where the body-count is SIGNIFICANTLY-larger.

Who will "answer to God", for THOSE??

How do you figure MrShaman? By official count, there have been over 50,000,000 American children killed by legal abortion since the Supreme court opened the door to abortions in the US in 1973. The figure is actually more like 55 million, now. Exactly how many Americans do you think have been killed in all the wars we've every fought in since 1776? I have researched the number and its more like 1,500,000. Averaged out, thats about the same number of abortions performed per year. You're not even close with that line of BS.

Honestly, I can't say I disagree with this article. I am against Abortion, 90% against it. I explained in the other LTE (Melissa's) that I would support 'extreme medical situations' that justify abortions. But there's also a reason that I am not out picketing with people who are against abortions and it is because, while I am against abortions and that is my belief, I have always beleived that it is not my place to tell others what THEY should believe. That is a fight, that, I have no ultimate place in. I'm not a woman, I don't have to go through the processes of abortion or child birth, etc. I'm not saying people are wrong for picketing or opposing in whatever manner they do. I'm simply saying for me and me alone, I feel that the best way for me to oppose it is vocally, such as this.

If, at the time, I could "pull the plug" on myself, I would. But of course religion in politics step in.

Actually according to the latest statistics, there are approximately an average of 4000 abortions a day in the United States, which is almost 1.5 Million a year. That's an alarming # and as I've said before, I think many of them are due to people using it as a birth control method, which is just wrong!

When one turns on the light in a dark room, you might see a stained floor, walls with cracks, paint peeling and cobwebs. For some, the tendency is to turn off the lights so the memories aren't etched into the brain and they are not continually reminded of them.

Likewise, many see God's law (natural or written) as illuminating the short-comings in their life and the tendency is to "turn-off" God by saying He doesn't exist or His laws do not apply.

What these people misunderstand is that He will forgive, heal, and restore those that will repent and put their trust and faith in Him. God can remove the stain on the floor, repair the crack in the wall, put on a fresh coat of paint, and clean out the cobwebs.

He has done this for me and continues to work in my life even though I sometimes rebel and act selfishly. For those women (and men) that have pursued the path of abortion and have a pain in their heart, please call out to God to forgive and heal you.

If there is any consolation with this subject, Logic will tell us that the large majority of babies aborted would have been raised in Liberal households. So in effect, Liberals are contributing to the reduction of their species.

Yes - that was slightly satirical and completely true.

Are y'all suggesting people are getting abortions because there is a shortage on fuel?

That's because Halliburton got SKUNKED!!!!

The DICK; Cheney assumed...withOUT Saddam Hussein...all foreign oil-contracts, with him (i.e. the Iraqi Govt.) would be NULL-AND-VOID!! WE would (then) assume ownership as a "spoil" of War.

Ol' DICK must have been spittin' busted-teeth when the new Iraqi-government auctioned-OFF any-and-all new contracts...and, The DICK never DID get the preferential-treatment he'd expected!!!!

ToTex, I believe it was on my way to work this morning listening to the local Contemporary Christian radio station (WGRC) that I heard an ad from a Christian Organization whose calling was to offer alternatives to abortion. Their message was that we should be praying for Dr. Gosnell so that he may receive Jesus Christ, repent of his sin and work from inside to witness to others there about the gift of salvation and eternal life. It struck me how often we look at the actions and fail to see the person in need of salvation. Everyone does need to know that it is available to them just for the asking.

Steve, i agree, you want one, go get one, but do not ask me to pay for it, Further, apply this logic to a whole bunch of other taxpayer supported useless govenment programs and we as a country will be much better off. The small amount of people even paying taxes can't support everybody else. Get off of the govenment programs and support yourselves for once.
