Hopefully this doesn't force the La Quinta hotel to go too far elsewhere. I don't know if people realize this or not, but La Quinta could actually bring reasonably good paying jobs, it's a 'upper class' hotel chain.

Despite what some may post, quality of life is not always dependent on jobs, jobs, jobs! Especially hotel jobs for heavens sake - some of the lowest on the pay scale.

Plus, hotels/motels are notorious for pulling in fbn's (fly-by-nights) with less than stellar motives. Good for these folks for saying NO!

I'm curious, do you work or have you worked at a Hotel? Do you know what they pay per hour? Some of them in this area, pay around $11/hr. That's not by any means a 'blow my mind' wage but it's significantly higher than minimum wage.

As for your point about the FBN's, I think that as a basis alone for reason of denial is ridiculous. First of all, if by that you mean they won't pay their bill, most hotels now, you have to give them a credit card # to even check in. If you mean they'll be up to no good as visitors...pfft..we have more citizens than visitors in the area that meet that criteria.

As for quality of life not being just about jobs, you're right, but at the same time, we have a very big shortage of jobs in the area, we need more, it's that simple. La Quinta, I'm sure we may see you in the Loyalsock/Williamsport area soon.

Aw,"ww", do you think I know not whereof I speak? Of course I've worked in the business - manager, housekeeping, grounds, front desk, laundry, just for starters. Have YOU? You seem to know so much about it. And, an FBN would probably show up, do some nefarious business and get the heck out of town. You can't really be that dense, can you? To not understand what I meant.
