Liberalism is a mental disorder, not a religion.

"Is there anyone who thinks that it is acceptable to have that many more citizens killed in this country than in a country where we declared war." direct quote from this letter.

When was war declared in Afghanistan? I missed that one! We haven't had a single declared war since WWII. They've all been limited conflicts in which there have been rules that only we have had to follow, not the enemy combatants. We've had to exercise restraint, while the other side could battle to their hearts' content.

Mr. Reeder:

You are correct.

I am the Satan to your religion of liberalism!

Thank you!

And yet not one gun control advocate can explain how taking away my guns will prevent a gang thug from shooting someone over a drug deal or other perceived injustice. Why? Because they can't, and because taking away my guns will not prevent criminals from obtaining them and killing each other (and us).

Until we make a concerted effort to clean up the trash that has infested many cities around the country, break up the gangs, put them in prison, or worse yet, sic the IRS on them because they're obviously not paying taxes on their ill gotten gains, and next year, we can fine them for not purchasing health insurance as well.

As far as people spouting off about a "well regulated militia", tell me where to sign up. I'd be proud to belong to my township's militia. Now get off my lawn!

19,000 of the deaths were from suicide and there were 38364 suicides in 2010. 11000 firearm relates deaths due to one person shooting another.

The writer labels his statistics "vital numbers" yet doesn't provide their source. There's a reason for that.

Liberals are vile human beings.

The statistics cited by the author include those shot by police and those shot in self-defense.

The author of this letter is clearly incapable of thinking for himself. He must hail from the Chuck Reeder school of Liberal indoctrination.

Nobud has it exactly correct. If gun restrictions are the answer, then places that are the most restrictive should be the ones with the least amount of gun violence. Unfortunately, the areas that are the most restrictive are where the most gun violence happens.

Just once I want to hear a Liberal explain that.

"It seems to me that the NRA along with each state government and the U.S. Congress owes the public a better way to protect its citizens."

There is no better way to protect the citizens than to allow them easy access to firearms. There are millions of cases every year of a citizen using a gun to stop a violent criminal. What the government needs to do to protect citizens is to eliminate gun-free zones. They are unconstitutional anyway. As long as guns exist, and they always will, criminals will have access to them. As long as criminals have guns, law abiding citizens should have them too. Why is that idea so abhorrent to the left?

Punish those that break the existing gun laws.

Allow teachers, school administrators, and other school employees to conceal and carry after passing appropriate training and making sure they are mentally stable and are not taking anti-depressant medications.

Also the militia is not to protect the people from foreign governments but their own.

Perhaps the author could explain how the very areas that are gun free zones and the very cities that have the tightest gun control laws also have the most gun violence. This is a simple thing that the anti gun crowd always seems to skirt.

32,000 traffic fatalities for 2010. Outlaw cars. Better yet: Make places like Detroit, Chicago, New Orleans, Watts, E Chicago, Gary, E St Louis, Richmond, Stockton, etc. gated communities and outlaw keys.
