Divided country

May 28, 2013

Our Federal government has divided the United States of America into four classes of people. 1. We have the super rich who do nothing but steal from the poor working class. 2....

"I think they are still in business in FL. Why don't you try the Wikipedia article on Piper Aircraft?"--CHayes

++

The Wikipedia seems to have some gaps or doesn't fully match what some of the people said yesterday so it adds more confusion.

For instance look at the name changes from Piper Company to The New Piper Company and then later to the Piper Company. These name changes could provide a different legal name that affords protection either from unions or product failure lawsuits but still provides some product name familiarity.

Also one of the people at the museum said that you can not order replacement parts (or more accurately started parts would be on permanent back order) for the older models. To get FAA compliant OEM copies, there are alternate manufacturers.

Again, I am asking because there appears to be an incomplete picture.

Wayne you are a member of that union you speak against.

You are a corporate lap dog who has no regard for his fellow workers.

Ummmm... I named no union, but was writing in opposition to ALL unions in general. I'm a good worker, and I can tell easily because I don't pay attention to how little anybody else does, and don't do likewise. I do my job, and do it well. I don't abuse quitting, break or lunch times, usually starting and stopping on time, unless broken down or between orders, or waiting for supplies. I care about my coworkers, but when one screws himself out of a job, my sympathy is limited. I am 'pro-me', and always worked in non-union environments before this job, never had any problems with management, just cutthroat coworkers. How am I responsible for your insanity?

you hit the nail on the head Tex."

Hey boobie, if Piper 'ceased", who is it that administers their website that I was just on?

Maybe you couldn't find it boobie, because it's pretty well hidden. The address is piperDOTcom .

In 1960 when I first began flying lessons, it was in a Piper PA 11. Neat little plane.

Maybe those on this site can answer this question for me.

My darling bride and I took a tour of the Piper Aviation Museum in Lock Haven yesterday. It paints a very interesting story of how it was started, how it grew, how Mr. Piper was such a driving force, how technology changed and new models and markets developed. There were ups and downs in the market place with recessions, flood of '72, expanding to countries in South America, etc. Then it came to a screaming stop. I asked several different people yesterday why that happened and got markedly different answers. One claimed that it was due to excessive litigation and lawyers gone wild. Another claimed it was due to union demands that brought the company to a halt while efforts to relocate to Florida never did regain speed.

Does anyone have more insight to why Piper ceased?

USABorn when members of the right dicuss entitlement programs they do include SSI and Medicare and Medicaid. They are not excluded. The reason for the welfare/social programs is because of the inequality of incomes giving vast wealth to a few.

OR:

"The prime purpose of unions these days is, first and foremost, to make sure [no] lazy, under qualified, under motivated and/or careless employees don't get fired for their behaviors." Correctly stated by removing either [no] or [don't].

"The prime purpose of unions these days is, first and foremost, to make sure no lazy, under qualified, under motivated and/or careless employees [don't] get fired for their behaviors." should read: "The prime purpose of unions these days is, first and foremost, to make sure no lazy, under qualified, under motivated and/or careless employees get fired for their behaviors."

"Workers need to change jobs if they feel under-paid or under-appreciated."

Or they could unite and make demands.

Great idea! Let's demand so much that the employer has to close up shop, then we won't have a job and can all call the now former employer a cheapskate and malign the heck out of him! The prime purpose of unions these days is, first and foremost, to make sure no lazy, under qualified, under motivated and/or careless employees don't get fired for their behaviors. Secondary purpose is to castigate those who DARE to do a good, consistent job, claiming them to be, said derisively, 'a company boy'. Third on the list is to demand things that employers find impossible to fulfill, forcing their businesses to be lost or crippled so badly that the future is questionable at best. Facts make you really proud to be a union member, don't they?

"Again Premier you said entitlement programs which we all contribute to. But you only think that the rich fund it all. Shows how dumb you really are."

What you contribute to is social seurity and medicare, NEITHER of which are ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS.

Programs, i.e., food stamps, medicaid, welfare of various kinds, are ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS.

So is that why you hire others so you don't have to work just push people around. May all your workers walk out on you and leave it all to you to do.

Well Reeder since we are talking "dumb" why don't you get out your calculator, minus from the Federal budget 70% of the revenue the top 10% pay. Now mind you Reeder we still have a government to run so take out all those expenses.

WHAT? Your 2.3 trillion in the hole? OH WHAT TO DO? Why we'll have to triple the taxes everyone else is paying, problem solved.

Isn't socialism great?

As an further example step back and take a Real look at what goes on with these LTE's

Now multiply it by a few million.
