I have always admired Mr. Sawyer. In all the years I have listened to him, he has never succumbed to the temptation to think of himself as a star. He reminds me of an athletic official whose greatest reward is to not be noticed by the fans because he/she did their job so well. Mr. Sawyer has contributed greatly to the region and he is a role model for all to follow.

I had the privilege of working with Ken for a short time in 1982 and can attest to his friendliness, professionalism and unique talents. I, like many, will greatly miss his melodic delivery. Indeed, his is the "voice" of Williamsport. Enjoy your well deserved retirement with your family!

enjoy your retirement. although i vaguely remember hearing your voice, i have heard your name across the radio for many years. losing Ken is like losing gary chrisman (sp?) when i was in first grade, MANY MOONS AGO, my little dinosaur alarm clock would go off with garys show and i remember that music and his voice fondly. the same will go for ken for many of you that knew and listened.. agian, thank you and enjoy your retirement.

Ken IS a local icon that really is the voice of Williamsport. I really don't think he can be replaced. A master at what he does.

Ken certainly seems to be a decent and caring man.

And in my opinion there is no better team broadcasting the Little League games than Ken and Gary. I often watch the games on tv with the sound muted and the radio on so I can both see the game and hear Ken and Gary's broadcast. Aside being great at play-by-play as well as 'color', I love that they actually get to know the kids and share lots of anecdotes about the players and their families. Really adds to the enjoyment of the games.

I've always been a bit surprised that one of the national radio or tv stations didn't pick them up just to broadcast the Series.
