May 31, 2013

As a taxpayer who has worked all my life, I repeat worked all my working life, I'm 78 and still paying taxes, I feel Abortion on Demand needs a name change to Contraception on Demand....

Zook - " most of us are "wired" to be predators and risk takers and competitors". Describes women in 2013. You'll just have to trust me on this one.

Spike- A man will never ever understand what it's like to be raped. Women are "wired" differently than guys. It will mostly be blamed on women because they "asked for it" in some way. Guys, understand, most of us are "wired" to be predators and risk takers and competitors. I challenge any of you to describe what it's like to be a woman!! Seriously, tell all of us what it's like. To us it would be an emotional nightmare; my take only. And please don't go to the "sexual orientation" place. It's a non-sequitur.

John - No. trial by peers means both men and women. FYI: boys and young men report rape even less than women. seems to be even tougher for males to discuss.

GunnySar- I think Sham-alama-ding-dong just likes to pull our chains. But, he's one of those guys who has to be right all the time, and with his handicap of terminal Liberalism, will go to any extreme to prove his point, however mis- leading and inventive.

S/F- I am sorry if you took my post as an attack. Upon re-reading your post, I would say some of your life experiences have caused a lot of damage and justify your opinions. But, I was married 27 years and never once raped my wife, and, as men, we will hardly ever know the horror and indignation of being raped. A predominately male courtroom may not be the best make-up for rape trials, I'll agree. With more women in the judiciary and attorney field, can there be a call for a more balanced courtroom, or even an all female court for rape cases?

I agree with SilverFeather. Filing a rape complaint, being questioned by numerous people, testifying at a preliminary, questioned by a defense whose job is to discredit you, be prepped for trial, talked to more, testify again, be ripped apart and then an acquittal of the perpetrator in more than a few cases. Go to the court house and sit through a rape trial and see how certain you are that you would do this. I agree rapists should be prosecuted fully but it is not any easy road for the victim.

Mr. Shaman would it be too much to ask if you try and reframe from the constant barrage of the same old context of your posts. I am sure even the liberals on here get tired of it and scroll thru them. You continuously throw the race card out there, copy and paste posts and refer everyone to leftist you tube videos or media outlets, and the ever tiring axis of evil reference. Why don't you put some thought behind what you post and add content that is derived from your experiences and beliefs. You, of course have the right to post whatever you want, but please don't kid yourself into thinking that you play any role in getting anyone to think about what you spew.

Tgrammiex4, I will respond to your comment as it was lacking the ignorance some of the others. I stated in my comment, in the case of rape. However, there were those trying to pass laws that if a woman DOESN'T report the rape, she will not be allowed to have an abortion. Most women who are impregnated during rape do not want to go through the rigors of being questioned repeatedly by police as if they are a criminal themselves and made to prove that they were raped. This has been documented to happen in many areas where Planned Parenthood isn't present. It's a horrible experience and they are made to feel it was their fault that they were raped. I know, I've seen it. Now, look at the way my comment was twisted and turned by the misogynistic few to make me look as if I'm a man hater. Simply because I'm a woman and I stood up! They need to get used to that, I'm not going anywhere.

Spike, you bring up valid points. I have a problem with using abortion as birth control. To end a life out of convenience I think is wrong. There are too many ways to not get pregnant that are easily available. If women don't take responsibily to protect themselves if they don't want kids it is wrong in my eyes. They DO have control over that. They do not have control when it comes to rape , incest or unforseen life threatening harm to the mother. In cases of rape and incest, i would hope they would choose adoption as an alternative.I can understand however the psycological damage that can come from carrying a baby to term under those circumstances. No easy answers.

I do support abortion under conditions I have repeatedly stated in other posts in response to numerous LTE's on this subject. Why are some who constantly suggest life begins at conception moving to the rape as a qualifying circumstance? This is still the ending of a potential baby/person under the right-to-life theory. Is it politically expedient to end life under these circumstances or is it ok to terminate this baby's life (as you reference embryonic tissue). I think it's A or it's B. If you support termination under any circumstances you are Pro-Choice. I don't think their is a Pro-Life but option.
