John Z - I agree with your first sentence. I would agree with you if you said some in the democratic party believe.... In fairness, their are many in both parties who believe abortion should be legal. The issue is the standards. You will never convince women to fully support a any law without a circumstance exception. You will never convince young voters. Everyone should come to the table and argue for their beliefs, understanding the law will be right or left of center. The personal ideology will control the choice of each person. We all have problems with how "our" tax dollars are spent. I know many do not want to fund an abortion but similarly, I don't want to pay for health issues and high-risk surgery caused by excessive eating and lack of exercise. I could accept the personal responsibility argument if you are willing to apply this to every aspect of life.

There are Christians that do sin and break the law but are generally held in check by their moral code derived from God or the laws of the land. They are punished when justice is implemented.

Would you rather have a government run by Marx, Lenin, Mao Zedong, or Hitler? A government when the creator-derived unalienable rights (natural law, moral law) are replaced by man-derived rights of who is the one on the trigger side of the gun?

that is how everyone should act everyday, but unbelief seems to exclude some as their ideology is their religion. An ideology of killing unborn children. At least the worshipers of Baal, Molech, and all the other false gods waited until the children were born, which is still unbelievably evil.

I see a few agree we keep Sundays respectful and thoughtful. For those of us who agree - let's do it. Let's boycott all hateful endless rants, not agree or disagree on name calling. Let's be nice to each other for just one day. If a few choose not to, beat each other up, without the rest of us!

Reeder- could you expand a bit on your 10:12 post? Besides, you forgot lawyers; they turn into politicians.

How about a Sunday moratorium. Most of those who post, who are religious, attend their churches and so forth on this day. Out of respect for them, whether we agree or disagree, let's stop bashing and arguing religion on Sunday. Maybe it would be a good start for showing respect even if you disagree. Maybe we could practice kindness, tolerance of the ideas of those with whom we disagree. Maybe we can all become civilized in our comments even if it is only one day a week. It would be a beginning.

Texas, people who say they have Jesus in the hearts are politicians who lie and cheat. I don't see where that leads to truthfulness in government.

The greatest atrocities in human history were carried out by governments filled with people who saw themselves as standing over everyone else.

CMReeder appropriately points out that some Christian politicians [and other politicians] have lied and "steal" the taxpayer's taxes to use/earmark for pet projects. DKrause appropriately points out that Jesus is truth.

That is why we should worship Jesus and not politicians.

2. We should also hold all politicians (Christians, non-Christians, Democrats, Republicans, OWS, libertarian, Tea Party, etc) accountable to truth and morals.

3. We need to start with truthfulness in our own hearts.

Derek Krause-"There is so much hope for this land and especially for all the people in it. Our choice is simple really. We can wait, be conformed to this world and basically ignore the lies and hope they never cut too deep into our own personal life. Or, we can choose to resist, and be transformed by the renewing of our minds through the guidance of Jesus' love, patience, hope, and forgiveness. We who are called by His name have an amazing Opportunity to shine very brightly in this dark world. Even if you only feel like a small hallway night light right now, when you see how much of an impact that light has around you, you will quickly become a bright burning star. Don't give up. Don't give in. Lets all seek real prosperous change."

Amen!!!!
