Mr. Barrows comment:

"Instead of making the public search for the information on various websites, by supplying a link on the district website and showing residents how to access it, would allow everyone to be informed, Barrows said."

I wonder if these people could find information if it dropped in front of their face!

I really doubt 133 children would ever go to a charter school in the valley....seriously...Sugar Valley? If they complain about going to JSE...they would never go to SV....Maybe they have another trick up their sleeve?

No one can truly believe that keeping that school open makes any sense at all. It would not help anyone and would serve to hurt all students , even the Nipp children, and the taxpayers. Board only needs to vote with an ounce of common sense!!

I cannot figure out who the puppet master is? The low grade go fors are evident (Stahl, Steinbacher, Barrows, Francis, Sweitzer, Wasson, McClain, Lorson, etc) they repeat themselves, end up confused, then plead ignorance. Where do Raye Bierly and Jody Livziey come into this observational equation? No conspiracy anymore, some people are easy to see through. Bierly and Livziey answer for David Hines?

David Hines will serve the teachers union...aka...Raye Bierly. Taxpayers...BEWARE....The good people of Jersey Shore need to stand up for themselves...Why should the Valley dictate the future for ALL the students.

The courtroom theatrics are becoming arbitrary and capricious, casting doubt when all else fails.. A collusive bunch--with absolutely no respect for others, let alone themselves. Is this how Christian brothers treat one another?

Worried and Andy--when foolish people in this area allow themselves to rely on only the "vested" stakeholders instead of picking up the phone, visiting the A&P building, and even searching the World Wide Web for information on their own--they reap what they sew.

Mr. Francis is well known around town for starting fires and running.

"common sense", "Christian", "charter schools"...these do not apply.

I would think that it would not be in the districts best interest to have their President of the teachers union setting on open political forums broadcasting for all of the educators in the district. I have reviewed newspaper articles, website forums, attended concern citizens meetings, read letters with politicians, read her political advertisements, was approached by her (David Hines and Adrienne Stahl on May 21st) prior to voting, listened to and read her comments concerning the Administration Building sale, all against the people who employ her. Something doesn't make sense here! It is my opinion that while representing all of the educators in the district, she should refrain from her political conflicts of interest. It is situations such as these that give rise to court cases questioning First Amendment Rights for all citizens. My only question....who isn't doing their job?????

SalladasburgDad..you have an excellent point...wonder why nothing is done about her...wonder why the teachers aren't up in arms about about her disrespectful and [possibly illegal] behavior? Are they [really] behind her? She [well, actually her daughter..a teacher..] recruited David Hines to run for a school board position. NOW...this a question that has YET to be answered....WHY!!!!

I think andy may be onto something here. During the last election, Raye Bierly's father (Bert) ran a write-in campaign against Mr. Miller. The hard line union members also ran candidates against Williamson, but the union failed on both attempts. In this election, Bierly actively supports Hines, Shrodo, and Wasson against Helms, Brungard, and Allen. With the help of Mr. Sweitzer's money to run false ads in the S-G, she was successful in unseating Helms and Brungard, but Allen won both democratic and republican ballots. The pattern and goal is to load up the board with union sympathizers. You can probably bet that Bierly and her cohorts will run a cut-throat write-in campaign of lies against Allen in the fall election. Then in a couple years, the inexperienced and naive board, loaded with union supporters will be expected to deliver the goods in the next teacher contract.

One doesn't need a degree in rocket science to figure out just what the bottom line is here. Equal representation was covered with the addition of Ms. Koch (Adrienne Stahl's sister and whose signature appears on the petition filled in Lycoming County courts by her sister for reapportioning)But, the administrator Bethany McClain of the Save Our School District Website grants Raye Bierly with that honor. This type of behavior makes all of us educators (even retired ones such as myself) look disgraceful. This has nothing to do with the students in the Jersey Shore School District.

Interesting reading about another attempt by Mr. Francis to "misunderstand" and then misrepresent the debt of the school. I spoke to someone who was at the meeting monday night and the irony is that after asking a string of questions about the debt, and being told that the topic was being presented in the agenda, Mr. Francis left BEFORE the debt presentation. Was he really that interested in hearing the answers to his questions about debt? I guess not!

Regarding Ms. Lorson's comments. Does she REALLY expect the school board to willingly help her and her 133 friends to open a charter school in the soon to be former Nippenose school? It is rather simple to place restrictive use covenants on the building. The existing charter school option is in Sugar Valley, which ranks in the bottom of all PA schools, 1191 of 1606 elementary, 642 of 676 high schools and 819 of 848 middle schools. Maybe your precious children will benefit from a small rural school that you all claim to suppo

I was one of the lucky ones to grow up in the Valley and attend Nippenose. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any question that Nippenose will be closing. The parents of "Valley" kids need to face reality and start asking questions regarding their students move to JSE. Before they decide the fate of Nippenose, I believe the school board needs to answer some serious questions... How will you transport all the students to JSE? I'd hope they wouldn't put a kindergartner on a bus with a senior. What about teacher:student ratio? How will they protect students while construction is going on? Will they update the older JSE before moving new students in? Parents need to stop playing this p***ing match and get real.

I not only agree with this sentence, but, would hope that in the future community members in the JS area would stop stereotyping each other by place of residence. I doubt I will live long enough to see that day, but, there is always wishful thinking.

You people think you have all the answers. I take offense when you drag the students into the discussion. Now one can sway me that it is better for young children to ride on a bus for twelve miles to go to school. I guess I am selfish that I want to keep Nippenose open, but when my children came home from school the last day and cried that was their last day there, it bothers me. As far as opening a charter school, that is just nonsense talk. The lady who is sending out the flyers has NO CLUE what is involved. You need a place to house children, you need to hire educators-that takes a lot of money. In the end, it only hurts the district at large aka...the taxpayers. I will guarantee you this is bull!

Salladasburg and Valley Dads obviously learned that respect is a two way street. Everyone should be concerned about the children's education and dismiss the apparent "pi××ing" showdown from a select few. Some women didn't meet the 'Board of Education' consistently enough as children. For officers of the court and employees of the district to start an all out WAR and turn that 'Board of Education' into villains is sheer nonsense. When all else fails, lie. I do NOT want my Grandchildren to learn this from adults who should already know the difference between right and wrong.

Not fully understanding your post LaughIn. Father time will ultimately be the judge whether consolidation is the proper path to take. I am not convinced this is the most viable solution. I do believe that if the Board sat down with the union (as a whole and not the chiefs), there could have been some concessions made to continue programs as well as keep schools open.

ValleyDad987, March 14, 2013 school closure hearing will answer your questions. However, I watched the June 10, 2013 meeting from home and that review was much more informative. The Administration Building seems more of a benefit, I wonder why the chief called for a sale? What programs will be cut? I must have missed that part. Anyways, I was paid well for 40+ years to educate and studied human behavior as a benefit; unfortunately the students are not the Governments priority or that of the chief.

I am glad I checked back, nice to meet you ValleyDad-

Once things become very transparent in the next few weeks, there might be some Indians who may wish to turn their backs on the Chiefs. When you are told to use any means necessary (with complete disregard for innocent victims) to accomplish a goal, some Indians might like to check the law more carefully. Clear examples of malice are traceable on internet forums, e-mails, videos and such.

As for the union President- who comprised your questions on behalf of the teachers presented to the board in January? I am glad that you made note of that on a public forum with Helms. ValleyDad is right, maybe all union members should be consulted. Good teachers and all students should not be brought into this Andy33.

Why did the Nippenose Valley not support Harry Brungard their dedicated and compliant representative? ("You people think you have all the answers.") Why don't you listen to your representative? Was he to transparent?

I find little transparency in false political advertisements that are signed "The Concerned Citizens Group, paid for by Merrill Sweitzer." (not many know your relationships, jobs, how you prey) I rather enjoy apparent political ads for David Hines with the same exact words that randomly come out of Bert Francis and Raye Bierly's mouths at meetings. And the best recorded transparency took place at the school closure hearing when the "concerned citizens" all took their turns reading prepared statements. I would believe that a military officer defending his troop would be able to think fast on his feet and lead without delay? As for Adrienne Stahl, it is painfully clear she is a bully and user. You people are so obvious (victims supporting

Some of you act as though all of the parents whose children attend Nippenose are part of the "evil conspiracy"...According to a few people who post here, your "theory" is a segment of the base is calling the shots for the school? That is just absurd! It is clearly evident that the train to stop a school closure has wrecked. It is probably a good thing that some new faces will be sitting behind the table come January. Hopefully it will bring some closure to an ugly time for our district. Some of your comments are just plain ridiculous! Everything that needs done will be completed by year end. PERIOD.
