When Jeff Reeder witnessed someone being gunned down in his driveway in Williamsport’s East End a number of years ago, he didn’t stick his head in the sand and stay quiet....

That's what I hear a lot of Spike, excuses. People continue to say the city isn't doing enough, I'm not saying those people are wrong, but at the same time, usually, those people aren't doing anything at all.

You can take a picture with a cell phone without being obvious. You can call the police when you see things happening over and over again. You can call re: houses with excessive traffic. You can take your dog out for a walk if someone is hanging around on your street. You can form a Neighborhood Watch if your area needs one. There are a lot of things you can do. Most people make up excuses not to do them.

( It's Sad That Our City No Longer Belongs To Us The Ones That Were Born And Raised Here All Their Lives, With All The Shootings / Drug Trafficking And Other Crimes That Are Being Committed Throughout Lycoming County. Life, It's All Just A Vicious Cycle... So Sad We Can No Longer Have The Right To The Pursuit Of Happiness In Our Lives.

Wes I started a crime watch in the neighborhood in Williamsport that we use to live in. The first thing you need to do is talk with your neighbors to see if they want one, then contact the Williamsport Police and tell them that you want one in your area and they will help you from there.

Approver, we sold this beautiful place to the natural gas industry and now they are poised to destroy it. WW, you are already the best man for the job because you care. Thom, what happened in your life to turn you into such a miserable soul?

What is it that they watch, the platter of doughnuts disappear? Does the concept of "lost in a vat of suet" mean anything to you?

ww - don't sell yourself short. Back in the day I called myself "just a scumbag construction worker". My wife would get so mad at me. And you know what, she was right.

I don't think you would have to lead the group. If you can get some neighbors together, I'm sure someone will step up to lead.

Again, don't sell yourself short and have a good day.

@ Local2WMPT

Because honestly, I don't know the first thing about starting or leading a Neighborhood Watch, so I'm not sure I'm the best person to form a group. I know that sounds like a 'cop out' and I certainly don't mean it that way, but I genuinely am not sure I have the 'skill set' to lead such a group. I'm just a 'Desk job Security Guard'.

I am very much in favor of Neighborhood Watch programs and I honestly believe we need more of them. I just wish there was an active Neighborhood Watch Group in the Newberry area.
