rmiller -- What merited my comment was the content of the original LTE that started this whole thing.

aretesancus,

Some of your post is correct, but on this LTR, I'm not certain anyone here said anything that merits your commentary.

Why do we place so much weight on letters written to the editor or get so bent out of shape about their contents? A forum for thoughtful and intelligent discussion can rarely be found on the LTE page. Unlike other more credible newspapers, the Letters to the Editor at the S-G are not screened (or even spell-checked, let alone fact-checked), they're written by folks with no credentials, and are often authored by the same blubbering idiots.

I know those kinds of people. I saw mentally challenged kids get bullied growing up. Those people were just ignorant bullies. Unfortunately, they get away with being bullies.

Amy. Some people refuse to open their eyes and see the good in things that happen right in front of them. Watching Andrew make his way to school was very humbling and being at the school when he arrived and hearing all the students cheering his name was just so rewarding. That Friday gave me just a little hope for the human race. Don't let those with blackened hearts take away from Andrew's accomplishments.

Sometimes God puts angels like Andrew on this earth to touch the hearts of other individuals.

Mr. Kriebel, I hope that you have a wonderful Father's Day.
