Disappointed

June 23, 2013

Back in March of 2012 I wrote an LTE about the way our government was doing things seemingly without the best interests of its citizens....

Shulski,

One thing to play the game....another thing altogether to switch the rules in the middle to even "O's playing field" to win court advantage...in this case...self interest.

It was Bush Jr.' Patriot Act that started the erosion of our freedoms. He also started the bailouts. Why don't you hold Bush Jr. to the same standards that you do Obama? Obama's just continuing what Bush Jr. started. Does that make it OK? Oh, no.

Grow up John!

There is enough fault to spread around....quit bringing up the past in a feeble attempt to make right the present - desperately corrupt!

I voted for Bush #43 twice but I didn't vote for spying on citizens (or U.S. PERSONS as Dear Leader puts it), The prescription drug plan for seniors, bank bail-outs, or going against the free market system. Look at all the promises you Libs voted for and now see what you're getting. And, "the man sometimes sitting in the Oval Office" didn't even have a tragedy like 9/11/01 to deal with. He just let 4 people die in Benghazi and one on our "secure" southern border. You Libs did vote for that, didn't you?

"And I ask again, where are the Democrats standing against these unconstitutional policies of this administration? Are they without conscience? Did they not grow up in a country that guaranteed their freedoms under the protection of the very Constitution that they are not now "protecting from enemies, foreign and domestic.."? I can only ask, "Why have you broken your Oath"? "Why have you deserted your country"? Are the rewards of Evil worth your soul? Are you an American, or do you just play one in elected office?" - Gregory Weigle

I wonder if I check on Craigslist today, if I'll see a bunch of "Club Guantanamo" t shirts for sale by their former owners?

It has to be rare in the entire history of our country to see so many people all at the snap of a finger exhibit such a shocking change of heart. I wonder if the President who's just getting ready to renew efforts to close Camp X-Ray, will get some cooperation from Republicans now?

"Does it really matter who initiated the spying on American Citizens? We now can be arrested for no reason, detention and imprisonment for an indefinite period, and assassination without due process."

Says the man that voted TWICE for the guy that started it all, and supported it when it all started.

Does Mr. Weigle think we don't remember, or does he not remember what he was in favor of just a few years ago? What brought about this amazing 180 degree position change?

Why just a few years ago, the VERY SAME people expressing outrage now, were telling us that waterboarding wasn't torture, that civillian trials for terrorists were un-American, and Americans shouldn't worry about the govt actually monitoring the content of their phone calls and emails unless they "had something to hide."

It's incredible.

I agree as to vetting. Shouldn't we have a hard rule as to everyone running for office on at least the fed level? I would like to see transcripts on every congressman and senator. Who thinks this would ever get through Congress?

"But, when asked if he knew about the tax-exempt targeting of conservative groups, President Obama said he just found out about it in the papers with everyone else."

You see how this works with you erik? You read a slimy smear story, then when the information gets worked around the way you like it, you refuse to read or hear anything else about it. It's full on hands over ears "la, la, la I don't hear you, I don't hear you" stuff.

Because if you were capable of following a story to it's conclusion, you would know that a self described conservative who was a supervisor in the office said the standards that were being used to flag political businesses seeking a free ride on the taxpayer, were developed in the office, and didn't come from DC.

This seems to be an ongoing problem with you. Just yesterday you tried to pawn off a story on us about the NSA, with a story quoting a Congressman who's own top aid disputed what he said the next day. And that was a week ago

"CHayes: So: According to you: The value of a degree is diminnished by how long it took to achieve that goal? Took me 7 1/2 years and hard work. Since your "Manchurian Candidate" president's records are sealed"

It took Sarah Palin 7 years because she changed schools 4 times. Interesting that you feel the burning need to see the Presidents college records after he's been elected twice, even though there's nothing to indicate any impropriety, but you were ready to put Sarah Palin right next to the big chair without seeing anything about here college records, when she skipped from school to school for 7 years for unknown reasons, and all to get a degree that isn't really that demanding a degree to get.

Spike: Thanks for comment. The difference is that we are not applying for POTUS. If one of us were, then we should expect a thorough vetting process, which in the past has not been a problem for most. Never the less I shudder that today we have a vetting process that would exclude a president like Harry S Truman who I thought a good president.

Spike, nobody here is asking to be the President of the United States of America. What he did and thought growing up is an important measure of his beliefs, abilities and character. If there is nothing to hide then why not release them. This President has been protected by the Press to hide his true agenda and only now that he doesn't face any more elections it is coming out. He is a socialist at best and a communist (raised by communists) at worse and the country is going to suffer for putting him in charge.

OMG

The crazy person wrote again. Sorry but you all agreed to this after 9/11. Corporation have been compiling data on all of us for years and mining it just as long. They also sell that information to anyone who asks for it. You asked to be watched as well as your neightbor. You expose yourself everyday with your social media outlets. You are doing so even now.

richardson - I agree that 7 1/2 years for a B.A. or B.S. does not matter. Length of time is immaterial. Honestly, grades are not public record. See if someone else can get your transcripts? You can find that an individual graduated from a university under alumni. You can not access grades. I am not sure if anyone here has a PhD, is a lawyer or attorney. Can anyone access your doctoral thesis? Further, grades do not always equate with practical skill. If so, some of us probably have doctors from the bottom 30%. That concerns me. I don't ask, do you?

Our govt has morphed into something that is all about self preservation with a disregard for the electorate. As such, it will expand it's powers and influence so as to make us all dependent on it. That way we will welcome the intrusion into our lives just so that we make get a few crumbs from the master. That has been the ultimate goal of many in the federal govt for many years. Obumbler just happens to be in office as the intrusions ramp up and is so controlled by outside forces he couldn't stop it if he wanted to.

Over 180 visits by the IRS commissioner to the White House.

But, when asked if he knew about the tax-exempt targeting of conservative groups, President Obama said he just found out about it in the papers with everyone else.

Now, it turns out that the IRS Commissioner's Chief of Staff visited the White House over 360 times in the same period!

But we are supposed to believe that the delays and harassment of conservative groups was the actions of one or two in the Cincinnati office.

That's as big of a whopper as it was a video that caused the death of our Ambassador and four citizens in Benghazi.

Lies, Lies, Lies from the most transparent administration.

It wasn't 7 years, it was 6, and what does that have to do with anything anyhow? Many take longer than 4 years to get their degrees. Only a bit more than half of all students finish their schooling on time. Obama attended college for a total of six years, but took 12 years total to do it, after taking 6 years off. So what's the Diif?

"our government was doing things seemingly without the best interests of its citizens...."

Guess it depends on whether they are citizens or illegals!

The IRS sent 23,994 tax refunds worth a combined $46,378,040 to “unauthorized” alien workers who all used the same address in Atlanta, Ga., in 2011, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).

That was not the only Atlanta address theoretically occupied by thousands of “unauthorized” alien workers receiving millions in federal tax refunds in 2011. In fact, according to a TIGTA audit report published last year, four of the top ten addresses to which the IRS sent thousands of tax refunds to “unauthorized” aliens were in Atlanta.

The IRS sent 11,284 refunds worth a combined $2,164,976 to unauthorized alien workers at a second Atlanta address; 3,608 worth $2,691,448 to a third; and 2,386 worth $1,232,943 to a fourth.

The IRS sent 8,393 refund checks to the same bank account.

"As we try to remember D-Day, I feel sorry for all the WWII seniors alive now, seeing the country they fought to preserve, while watching their friends being killed and wounded on foreign shores"

Speaking of which, how many Amerians know that Obama has raised the number of American military to 1000 in Jordan?

How many know that he is getting ready to send American military to EGYPT?

Nothing like the war monger expanding the war front! And he rec'd a Nobel peace Prize?
