"Well, in a recent report, 97% of climatologists said they believe in man-made global warming." - Michael Haas

Just an FYI, it was not 97% of climatologists. It was 97% of the climatologists who WROTE A PAPER ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND OFFERED AN OPINION.

With 30,000 climatologists signing the petition, that is 600 per state. How many more didn't sign the petition because it didn't get circulated to them? That still seems like a lot of climatologists; you would think they could do a better job of predicting the weather.

Maybe the question to ask is what qualifications do these alleged 30,000 climatologists have? Maybe some of these are the ones that read their rain gauge and call the results into the TV stations?

This letter for starters.

"Just an FYI, it was not 97% of climatologists. It was 97% of the climatologists who WROTE A PAPER ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND OFFERED AN OPINION."

And ultimately Gavin, what percent of climatologists have an opinion about the causes of global warming?

I'm going to go with Fox "News" on that one, but chain email would be my second answer.

It was around 65% who offered a strong opinion, while around 35% offered no opinion. The 97% came from the group that offered a strong opinion.

The science concerning the cause of climate change if unsettled; the politics concerning the cause of climate change is settled. Doing something about it is an excuse for even more governmental regulations, control and wealth redistribution.

Stage two. You are admitting there is global warming, at least that is a start.

Even if 100% of climatologists said that man was contributing to climate change there would still be those who would not believe them. They are not going to change their ways.

Well seeing as Fox News has the highest ratings of all the networks I would bet there are viewers from both sides of the aisle. ALL mainstream media is nothing but entertainment now and doesn't come close to unbiased fair and balanced reporting. In my opinion they hold a great deal of the blame for tearing this nation apart because too many can't think on their own.

I guess you all missed the boat when the facts came out there since 1995, the earth has actually been cooling. That is why they decided to change the terminology of man-made global warming to "climate change." I am pretty sure the climate has been changing long before we drove a car or flew a plane or burned oil. This is all a hoax so that Democrats can use this for their agenda of utilizing a carbon tax and "punishing" us for driving cars, flying in planes, heating our homes, etc. I laugh every time I hear a news reporter blaming the recent tornados and hurricanes on "global warming." You would think they had never occured before the last 100 years. Get the facts and not from Al Gore, who said in 2002 that the earth would be gone in 10 years.

Joke of the day. So, um Darlin, can you identify the hottest 10 year span in history since temperature has been recorded? How about the hottest 12 month span since temperatures have been recorded?

You might want to look at that data, but thanks for the laugh.

"Well seeing as Fox News has the highest ratings of all the networks I would bet there are viewers from both sides of the aisle."

I would say that the fact that Fox "News" has high ratings has no reflection or bearing on the credibility of their "reporting". The Weekly World News moves a lot of papers weekly.

I'd also say that it speaks more to the need for direction from a corporate daddy by conservatives, than any sort of credibility.

When my Daughter lived in Auckland (New Zealand for those on the Right) they watched FOX for comic relief and wondered just how Americans think. She is living in Paris (France, that is in Europe) now so I will have to ask her, but I am sure it is much the same.

First of all Mr. Shaman where did you get your information that I am a conservative? And also, I would have to say the word "ALL" definitely fits for the very entertaining sources you quote.
