Non-Violent Criminals, which include Drug Related Crimes without weapons, are a major part of the problem in this area. The only way to get rid of the problem is to get rid of the people causing the problem.

Not only do I actually agree with Campana on this, we need to start shipping these druggies back out of the county. Start laying down more severe sentencing to criminals and shipping them to Rockview!

Disagree. Pre-Release is too far away. Most of the individuals who would utilize this program live in the city. What image??????? If the underlying crimes are drugs guess where the majority of drug dealing occurs? Francine, I think Judge Butts is well aware what is behind crime. I think young Gabe prefers a "See no evil...".Williamsport is not a pristine small city.

Agreed, Shirly! Maybe people are stealing from stores to trade items for drugs? They might be a non violent offender, but you are correct - what about the underlying reason? I just read an article online about Tide detergent being stolen and traded for drugs.

Yikes! I can hardly believe I'm in agreement with young Gabe, but there it is. Puleeze do not put such a thing in Wmspt. The crimes themselves may be non-violent but especially with regard to theft, the underlying crimes often related to drugs means a really unsavory element congregating in our already problematical city. Come ON, Nancy, look at what's behind the crime!
