Misguided ordinance

Although I applaud the efforts to reduce crime in our city, requiring tenants to register is not the correct way to do it....

Just because you write a long letter making something seem complicated doesn't mean it is.

You rent to someone who has a name, whether it's a corporation or a person. They sign a lease. Provide that name to Codes and their contact information. Doesn't sound too complicated to me.

This is the same guy who, fresh on the heels of a homicide in an alley in front of his rental unit, cried and whined that the City had not cleaned up the blood.

I can't see where this ordinance will hold up in court and you know it will be challenged.

I wouldn't worry yourself too much, I see this as just another ordinance that is going to be too difficult to comply with or enforce. They are trying to sweep up everyone's information in order to catch a few. Sound familiar?
