"unless they were building bombs or plotting against the U.S., why armed agents handcuffing the owners"

Maybe someone had a violent criminal history, or a large quantity of firearms? Maybe they got out of line when the agents arrived? Who cares? That's a law enforcement call.

"So Putin stole a ring from the White House and our incompetent head doesn't demand he put it back?"

The story was that Putin stole a ring from Robert Kraft owner of the New England Patriots while he was in Russia for a business conference in 2005. According to Kraft's story, which he is now backpedaling on, the inhabitants of the White House in 2005 told him to let it slide.

Aw, jeez...another "Benghazi-incident"; i.e. T-Baggers freaking-out, long before any investigation is completed.

Putin knows that Russia, Iran, Muslim Brotherhood and other countries have nothing to fear from the USA.

Trust me Mr. Wilson, the United State's restraint is not a sign of our inability to take on the countries you site. We still have an incredibly powerful military with the best weapon platforms and our men and women in uniform are second to none. The defense of this country should not be measured in our willingness to jump into every battle, but by the might we portray to avoid those battles.

As a fan of the New England Patriots, I can tell you that it has been a number of years since the Patriots have one the Superbowl.

The meeting in question, in which the Patriot Superbowl ring is alleged to have been stolen took place in 2005.

This letter's author faults President Obama for something that happened before he took the oath of office.

Kind regards.

"So Putin stole a ring from the White House and our incompetent head doesn't demand he put it back?"

So Mr. Wilson, is this the same ring that Mr.Kraft in 2005, while in Russia, first claimed he "gave to Mr. Putin as a gesture of good will"? If it is the same ring, then surly you know when Mr. Kraft wanted it back he looked to the US govt to help. But "our incompetent head" didn't demand it back. He felt it would hurt relations Russia. (I think he was probably right) Of course you also must know that it was Pres. Bush who said this, eight years ago.

What White House did you say it was stollen from?

I have to wonder what's up between this guy and the paper. On June 15, they printed a letter from him titled "Liberties Endangered". On June 26, they printed a letter from him called "Double Standard", that was, word for word the letter they printed on the 15th. Feel free to go check them out. Use the navigation bar on the bottom of the main letters page. The one from the 26th is on page 4, and the one from the 15th.is on page 6 Now they publish this trash heap. I wonder if we can expect to see this again in 10 days or so?

Aw, c'mon...as-long as John McCain (who spent most o' his 'Nam-time, sittin' on his back-side) is still drawing breath, we'll HAVE someone (constantly) calling for a new War!!

You really are despicable. Regardless how you feel about the man, he spent 5 1/2 years as a POW. Something I'm sure you would never understand. Disgusting.

"McCain had roughly 20 hours in combat," explains Bill Bell, a veteran of Vietnam and former chief of the U.S. Office for POW/MIA Affairs -- the first official U.S. representative in Vietnam since the 1973 fall of Saigon. "Since McCain got 28 medals," Bell continues, "that equals out to about a medal-and-a-half for each hour he spent in combat. There were infantry guys -- grunts on the ground -- who had more than 7,000 hours in combat and I can tell you that there were times and situations where I'm sure a prison cell would have looked pretty good to them by comparison. The question really is how many guys got that number of medals for not being shot down."

Mr. Shaman you have no idea what you are talking about. You wouldn't last a day let alone 5 1/2 years in a POW camp. Perhaps you should go speak to those that were POWs and find out what life was like and the torture they endured. You're a despicable coward.

I think John McCain is kind of nuts, but I feel its highly out of line to impugn the guy for his military service. Just as I think its highly out of line to impugn Sec Kerry for his military service, or ANY member of the US military for their service to our country. Particularly if their service was overseas in a war. Period.

The one caveat to that would be someone who brought extreme dishonor to the military and country through their actions, like the nutcase that massacred Afghan civilians, or the lunatic traitor Hassan.

Thank you Mr. Hayes. It doesn't matter to me how you feel about the man and quite frankly I have issues with him myself. But to say that he just sat on his butt in a POW camp while others were fighting the war, is just totally out of line and extremely disrespectful.

What the ef Sham, the guy was a POW for years and has since dedicated his life to public service. Seriously man, what the ef!

And Eric, THREE purple hearts! Come on man. THREE purple hearts.

You both should bow your heads in shame.

Yeah, DISPOSABLE Purple Hearts! Kerry discarded them, I presume because they meant so MUCH to him! Also, where's the pronounced limp, missing limb or at least visible scars from those 'wounds'? Or were they more like the small scratches I've heard described by witnesses?

Uh, that's what I'm RELYING-on...what OTHERS (that were "with" McCain, there) said!!

If you have no interest in reading their accounts...and, prefer your long-held, mythical "absolutes" (instead), about those times, that's your option.
