I am believing that this town is cursed, Carn normally a good fair judge has gone bad. Is it the curse of williamsport? What did our ancestors do to deserve this punishment.

I thought when Marino left so did the corruption?? Man was I wrong , its all about Money in this town. How can someone stay in your house for 2 months without paying a dime be legally evicted and the judge lets it all slide??? The owners word means nothing??? why bother have a landlord swear and raise your right hand. tenants don"t have to produce receipts or testify they are just given a free ride. Lets put all drug addicts and non working non payers in our units and the judges let them crap on us. Happy birthday America!!

I said it before and I'll say it again. This is another case of government sweeping up data on everyone in order to "try" and catch a few. But I doubt very much drug dealers sign leases.

Would this be needed if the City of Williamsport had not been bought by the City of Philadelphia?

Isn't this a bit of an overreach? Even if you try to know who is in every rental unit, how do you know who frequents or stays over? No landlord or tenant is going to perform or agree to constant inspections. As to codes violations, it seems most tenants are quick to come up with some violations, real or manufactured) when faced with eviction. Are these relayed from DJ's to Codes?

So since we maybe can't afford to buy a home at this time, we have to go to City Hall and show our "papers" like second-class citizens?

City Council needs to vote this nonsense down and find some $$$ to FIX THE ROADS!

Spike, Mim, you're both right. Why is it that Williamsport is always burdened with LYCOMING COUNTY problems? We aren't the County, we're a city within it. All this "low income housing", it's part of the reason we have the crap going on that we do. That's where most of the low lifes live. (I'm not saying everyone that lives in low income housing is a low life)

If there are 117,000 residents in the county and 30K are living in the city, that makes us 25% of the county. Why does the city have 70% of the low income housing. Pass an ordinance that disperses the section 8 housing though out the county equally. There a re a lot of nice burgs in the county.

A manager can live no more than 5 miles outside the city? This doesn't apply to police or city employees. I also see this as a revenue grab and a backdoor way to help the police do their work. If they need to know who owns a property, which is probably rare, send an employees to the courthouse and look at the deed. Finally, why is the landlord required to gather so much information prior to renting and provide copies of documentation? Most landlords so some sort of rental agreement. This is additional work and expense to those who own numerous properties. Does this cause a rent increase in a city where rent is barely affordable to those who have lived here all their lives. Finally, is the Housing Authority required to do the same? Are hotels? Are weekly rentals?

We're asking landlords and tenants to help us by being the first line of defense against crime and code violations," Miller said. The phones must be broke at city hall because I never got a call about helping???

the best thing landlords could do is to stop accepting section 8 housing. 70% of the county"s section 8 is in the city. It needs to be more equally dispersed. throughout the county
