Perhaps before you make changes...YOU SHOULD FIX THE EXISTING PROBLEMATIC ROADS AND ALLEY WAYS THAT ARE FULL OF POTHOLES AND HAVE BEEN DECAYING FOR 20+ YEARS!!!

Yes, they should do a study and figure out a better way to flow the traffic so that it is more convenient for more people. Once again, we have growth so we have to encourage it, not inhibit it just so that we can continue to live in 1950. Much has changed downtown since 1994 and more will change. With the addition of more housing downtown you will see more store, not just dining and drinking establishments. Private investors are making this happen and they will continue to establish businesses downtown to serve a growing population. (And, yes, while they are at it, they should fix the horrible condition of the roads.)

This is an excellent idea. Albarano is correct that the pattern of one-way streets needs to be studied. There are way to many "No Turn on Red" signs as well that slow down driving in that neighborhood.

This is the same saga repeated in cities naionwide.

A dead city spends like crazy to revitalize downtown with plans, and investments and ideas.

Then, some outside event takes place that booms the area and the city is caught off-guard at the growth.

Demonstrating, again, that politicians waste your tax dollars and have no clue about real governance.

Something should be done on Maynard street too. Left turns from Maynard onto 4th should be banned between 9am-5pm. Traffic during Penn College semesters and off-peak backs up pretty bad on this street. From 4th st to 220.

People who turn right off of Washington Blvd onto Market think Stop Except for Right Turn means to take that turn at 50mph. When there is a line of traffic trying to turn left, anyone coming up Market street at the stop sign has no idea who is, speeding, through that right-turn... esp someone from out of town who doesn't realize that is the traffic pattern.

First of all, I've seen a lot of out of towners come here flying down the highways at 100 mph, driving through town like they own the roads and we "owe it to them" to get out of their way, etc.

The Traffic patterns in this city are ridiculous. Sort of like the "Right Turn Only" they decided to add next to the Triangle. I'm still scratching my head at that one.

I agree with the whole Right Turn thing on Market St coming off of Washington Blvd, though I wish people knew how to read and actually stopped stopping unless they there was a vehichle passing through the intersection when they are turning right.

I'm not a big fan of the traffic circles either though I understand that their mentality was to drastically slow down traffic.

Why didn't they do a study before the bridge was built?

ww-Absolutely correct about the potholes. The Triangle sign - I had an eye appointment with Dr. Nible on the corner there and he was complaining bitterly about the amount of accidents at that intersection because of some people just running the stop sign. A little time after that, there was an accident with a fatality and not long after that, the sign went up.

Studies = BIG $$$$$$$$$, then more BIG $$$$$$$ for the changes, then more studies = $$$$$$$ changes again + more BIG $$$$$$$$$, Such waste is absurd.

Johnny, not living down that way I guess I hadn't realized there's such an issue with accidents. It adds a bit more understanding to the sign. Just requires me to drive a little bit more, not the end of the world if it just means I get my son to where we're going safely. Thanks for the info on that.
