Maybe it's time for your own police force?

Maybe it's time to go get yourself a carry permit ? Level the playing field. You can't rely on having a police officer at your service exactly when you might need them like RIGHT NOW,you could be killed. You have the right to protect yourself it is called the Second Amendment, ("AMERICAS ORIGINAL HOMELAND SECURITY")Join the NRA and educate yourself.

@Michael...so you're saying the lifeguards should be carrying? How would that work exactly? Don't forget that they're probably under 18. Maybe you meant the pool manager? Would seeing someone strolling around the pool with a weapon make you feel safer? I know I wouldn't.

Perhaps you were saying the folks with the drug activity in their neighborhood should be armed and patrol the streets...ever heard of George Zimmerman?

djz- i have heard of him and it is looking like he is going to be found not guilty, looks that way dj. I think george was maybe a little over zealous ?? But what about Travon ? doesn't sound like he was exactly in the right either.

@Michael..."maybe a little overzealous"??? A little? The man had absolutely no reason to follow the kid. None. Zero. Period.

I don't care if Trayvon had smoked a whole pound of marijuana before entering the neighborhood. A person who "looks like they're on drugs" (Zimmerman's words) doesn't deserve to be shot dead in a stranger's back yard for no other reason than a man with a vigilante complex and a weapon took things way too far.

Also, the only network that is making it sound like Zimmerman is going to walk is Fox News. That's the same network that was claiming Romney was going to win...how'd that work out for them?

djz- Calm down buddy, that is why we have a court system, let it do its job, the jury will decide, isnt that good enough for you? If they find George guilty, then so be it, i dont have a problem with that, if he broke the law then he should be punished.I personally do not care what any media outlet says, the law will prevail, speculation means nothing. George will have to answer for his actions one day, i would not want that on my shoulders for sure, right or wrong.

What we should be concerned about is the fact that this city and society has gotten to the point where we need security guards at our pools. Very sad. Throw them all out of the pool and ban them for the rest of the season.

Not the rest of the season Gys. The rest of their lives. Seriously; or at minimum 5 years or something like that. I agree with you, Williamsport used to be a decent place to live. Now, since Philadelphia has pretty much 'taken over' this city, you have be careful walking down the street due to how violent and dangerous the city has become. It is sad indeed.

gysgt- couldn't agree with you more. Where are the parents? A breakdown of society, absolutley, this is what happens when people have children that should never have children."the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" how true. How do you correct that?

Firearms are NOT an answer to any and all complaints. Violence only gets us MORE violence. Our court system of justice is the best in the world. It functions because of its checks and balances, and because of the law enforcement officers who enforce our laws. And while I'm quoting adages and maxims, "guns don't kill people, people kill people". Makes me wonder why we have law enforcement officers at all?

As far as Zimmerman goes, not only is there reasonable doubt, there is EVIDENCE that Trayvon Martin was the aggressor and assaulting Zimmerman when Martin was shot. Zimmerman absolutely should be acquitted if there is any justice in this world.

If Zimmerman wasn't carrying, he would have been pummeled to death by a street thug. There is no law against watching suspicious characters in your neighborhood. Zimmerman should be applauded for having the courage to stand up for his neighbors, something so few of us have. The rest of us just turn a blind eye and look the other way when this crap is going on.

How do you break the cycle?

Do what George Zimmerman did.

Trayvon will not create more Trayvons now.

Let the court system handle it?

Yeah, send Trayvon to jail so he can join a gang, prove himself by murdering someone, then create a life of crime while collecting benefits from taxpayers and breeding children with multiple mothers.

This is what happens today when they run through our court system.

It doesn't matter if the perp is black, white or purple, we have criminals of all colors, genders and sexual orientations.

The failure is that a sentence of guilty no longer punishes and no longer makes the perp want to change his/her ways.

i always ask the same question when young people are involved. where are the parents. however, no one is perfect and not all peoples kids turn out to be dear godly children that dont dress like thugs and hoochies. girls that wear skin tight dresses up to their hoochie coos in public events... they just look bad, like the parents have let them do that. just like kids that act out, the parents get the rap for the kid knowing how and thinking its okay to fight... dress, act. talk.. it all comes back on wheres the parents.

Horseplay at the pool?

Better hope Gabe doesn't find out. Wouldn't want to lose the diving boards for two weeks to teach the community a lesson.

Sad. Alot of communities don't HAVE pools or the funds to maintain and keep them open. There's always a handful of people (and these weren't kids)that have to cause trouble and think only of themselves. It shouldn't be dangerous to take your kids to the pool. They should have been arrested and charged with endangering.

Ha Ha, good one Jerry. Thankfully Little Philly has no jurisdiction over Loyalsock Township. If Cappelli had his wish several years ago though then maybe, but Loyalsock is still Loyalsock and not Williamsport East. Unfortunately the suburbs have suffered the brunt of the influx over the years as well - they all can't live in Littly Philly after all.

"How do you break the cycle? Do what George Zimmerman did."

You mean murder an innocent boy walking down the street?

If someone follows me in his car and then confronts me while I'm walking down the street minding my own business, I'm not going to wait for him to throw the first punch.

Had "Father Dearest" Gabe given more consideration to the needs of his East End community, instead of playing the race card and refusing to budge on things like summer activities and "Funded" transportation for low income families, throwing a typical Gabe temper-tantrum, and siding with the Loyalsock 'snooty-snoots' when they adamantly made it clear- THEY did not WANT undesirables in THEIR Pool... Welp, 'Daddy', here's Another fine mess you've gotten yourself into!

Really?

Under what pretense?

Show me how your life or property is in danger?

What did you do to alert authorities?

Why did you keep talking to your mentally challenged girlfriend?

Why would you blindside and attack another human who did nothing more than look at you?

Zimmerman Case:

If you want your blood to boil, go to the Judicial Watch website and you will see the article how the Department of Justice paid millions in tax dollars to organize the protests against Zimmerman before he was charged with anything.

If there is one loss of life following the Zimmerman acquittal, the blood is on Obama's hands.
