(Those price comparisons for sundaes, pizza, etc were based on the $12 addmissio for 2 to the fair, not the $6 for one. I should have been more clear---sorry.)

I'm assuming you don't go to any movie theaters either since that can easily cost $30 for 2 people for admission & popcorn & a drink.

$6 to get into the fair is not a an unreasonable price! Go to any ice cream shop and you will pay nearly that much for ice cream sundaes for 2. A pizza for dinner would cost that much. At the fair for $12 a couple can walk around or sit and 'people watch' for hours, enjoy the ambience, see all the animals crafts, food contests, artwork, see demonstrations of lots of different products, interact with lots of other people, watch kids having fun on rides, get some really good food that is mostly very reasonably priced and just generally have a wonderful day or evening out in an atmosphere that is clean, wholesome and fun and that you can only experience once a year. For many people the price is well worth the memories and feelings of pleasant days gone by that the fair experience evokes.

In my opinion it's a darn cheap price for all it offers

Its fine that couples with kids are ok with the admission price because it includes rides. However, there were many couples in the Muncy/Hughesville area that used to frequent the fair quite often just to walk around and eat. However, now, with admission being $6, I'll be lucky if I go to the fair one time this summer. $12 for admission for a couple, another few dollars to park, and then the price of food....too much for a hometown fair.
