This just is... President Obama gave a statement in the briefing room regarding the George Zimmerman case. While I don't agree with everything he said, I do respect him for taking this stand regarding further federal charges against Zimmerman:

"I think it's important for people to have some clear expectations here. Traditionally, these are issues of state and local government, the criminal code, and law-enforcement is traditionally done at the state and local levels -- not at the federal level,"

Hopefully this will put this matter to rest as far as the case against Zimmerman. But I'm sure the race baiters like Sharpton and Jackson will have the black community up in arms because of the President's decision; the right and just decision.

This just in, from CNBC..." Racism is wrong in any shape [or] form — there are a lot of black people who are racist, too. I think sometimes when people talk about race, they act like only white people are racist. There are a lot of black people who are racist. And I don’t like when it gets out there in the media because I don’t think the media has clean hands.” - Charles Barkley

Enigma they did not find Martin guilty. Members of the jury that had been interviewed said that both had made bad decisions. They did find Martin guilty they said he had a choice to flee. You are ignoring evidence also.

Trayvon Martin's death was used as a political tool originally by the Obama administration to create race division. When Zimmerman was found innocent and no racial bias could be proved, Trayvon's death is being used to garner support for stricter gun laws, which is what the Obama administration has been pushing all along.,

"There you go again David, getting the facts wrong. Zimmerman did follow police instructions. When they told him not to follow the suspicious person, he stopped." (The transcripts I read showed Zimmerman saying he was going to follow Martin.)

"Also, it was not pertinent to the case whether he acted properly as a neighborhood watch. It was about whether he was justified in the shooting." (I agree, I said so in my post. It wasn't clear which part of my post was a quote from someone else and which was my comment.)

Regarding why didn't Martin call 911, that is a good question. However, I do have to say that I expect more from a 28 year old with training in Neighborhood Watch procedures and carrying a pistol than I do from a 17 year old. Teen-agers (males especially I am sorry to admit) are not known for exercising good judgement, especially when under stress.

Over 33% of all Stand Your Ground cases in Florida are by black citizens defending themselves.

Liberals hope to create more black victims.

"Interesting read."

Yes, it was, and the author's proposed possible solutions seem fair and quite doable.

I always thought it was BS for a defendant to risk a harsher sentence just because he chose to defend himself in court. Federal success rates are about 95% because of this threat.

Of all the young black shooting victims in this country, you on the left can name 1. Because you've been trained like a circus seal to bark on command. 18 different 17 y/o black males shot dead in Chicago since 2/16/12. You don't know their names because they don't serve a political end.

David, the mistake Zimmerman made as a neighborhood watch volunteer was being out there alone. There should always be two or more people when doing a neighborhood walk through. If he had followed that procedure, I don't think any of this would have happened. However, that doesn't make him guilty of murder, manslaughter or violating anyone's civil rights.
