The trial

July 21, 2013

My take. A small town in Florida had an incident last year. It seems a neighborhood watch guy, who is Hispanic, saw someone he didn’t know in his gated community....

excellent letter Mr. Weigle.

"The "great healer of the races" has turned the loss of one young man's life in a small town in Florida into a national outrage.

The only thing accomplished is now the nation is more divided racially. We're back in the 60's folks, no thanks to this administration."

Obama, not a "great healer of races," but rather the "Racist-in-Chief."

And the investigation is not over. Even though the President came out and pretty much said not to expect federal charges, Sharpton and Jackson working in conjunction with Holder are still pushing for Federal charges and wasting resources and tax payer money. Holder is the highest ranking law enforcement officer in the country and he is being allowed to continue this witch hunt. The president said that the justice department needs to work with local and state authorities to provide them training in situations like this. I think the justice department needs to be trained first on the law and the abuse of power. The local police and prosecutor got it right and they knew they could never make a case for conviction because of the FACTS. This case was nothing but a political sham and it served no justice to the family. The administration needs to shut Holder down and congressional leaders need to call for his removal. This is just one of many reasons to get him out of office.

Further condemnation of the President comes from the fact that after an investigation and all charges being dropped against George Zimmerman, the Department of Justice spent millions to incite local groups in the Sanford area, thereby, creating this issue from nothing.

President Obama intentionally created this issue where none existed.

You've gotta get outta-town, more often...or, a "little"-more History-proficient, Skippy.

Ever since we'd (first) started allowing Cuban-"immigration"...unimpeded...there's BEEN a GROWING conflict, between Hispanics & Blacks, in Florida...and, the local (White) "natives" couldn't be MORE pleased/appreciative!!

As he'd ASSUMED (would happen)...George Zimmermann got-away with murder.

Maybe this will be the start of dialogue that will help promote value for human life and respect for others. It needs to start in the traditional family unit of a father, mother, and children living together that are committed to the love, well being, nurturing, training, discipline, honesty, integrity, etc of each other.

Our president promotes abortions and the morning-after-pill getting into the hands of young teenage girls. This removes the incentive for a man and women to be in a committed relationship. Instead you get men ranging around the female herd to have one night stands. Men treat women as a service. Women have government as their "husband" to provide a welfare check for food, child-care, and housing.

These all lead to a lack of respect for value of human life and murders increase.

Our president needs to lead in promoting traditional family relationships and the value of all humans regardless the color, s e x, age, vote-generating potential, etc.

The double standards in this country are absolutely glaring. Where was the national outrage when two black teenagers tried to rob a white woman in Brunswick, GA, in March of this year, and shot her 13 month old son dead in his stroller? Where are the leaders of the black community? Why aren't they condemning this?

What no one seems to be talking about is that Martin's 2nd Amendment rights were violated because he was not permitted to carry a fire arm because of his age.

Allowing only adults to carry firearm is a clear infringement on a protection of the Constitution that can not be infringed.

Because, CaveFelem, when it is black- on- white crime, what little media coverage it receives rarely mentions the race of the individuals involved.

Another letter from Weigle that is so full of lies and of course the right believes every word of it.

First paragrph alone. Zimmerman ID Martin as a young black male in a hoodie acting suspicous. In his neighborhaood all you had to do was be male, black and walking to be considered suspicous.

Same as Black neighborhoods. Only there, they don't call 911 before they shoot them.

Actually, the dispatcher had to ask Zimmerman what race the individual was, to which Zimmerman responded, "I think he's black". That fact alone would make it very difficult for the federal government to file civil rights charges. This has been attested to by former federal prosecutors that have commented on the case. It proves that Zimmerman wasn't even sure of Martin's race when he first encountered him. So saying he targeted him because he was black is just not true no matter how the race baiters want to spin it. If any of you had been involved in a neighborhood watch you would know he was doing just that. His only mistake in my opinion was he was out there alone. Had he followed watch guidelines, this probably could have been avoided.

True. Teenage Black males are statistically much safer in White neighborhoods than Black ones.

Personally I am saddened by the fact that so many young black men are murdered by black on black crime and very little attention is focused on this national epidemic. And then when we have a case such as this, we see so many that "care" about the black community come out of cracks for all the wrong reasons. None of you impress me with your sudden concern of the life expectancy of young black men because frankly, they are killing each other at a rate that no one seems to give a d a m n about. Just as many of you that voted for our first black president to make you feel good, you are the same people that act like you care for Travon. There are hundreds of Travons out there that get killed every year. Where is your anger and intolerance for them?
