One thousand is 1/150th of her yearly salary. Why is her salary so high? Did she really contribute to the school system around here? I don't know. If I had kids, and I were on the schoolboard, I would certainly want to screen these people. Someone making 150,000 dollars a year ought to contribute to the welfare of the school system proportional to their income.

Maybe I shouldn't have used the phrase "welfare of the school system". I don't mean like assistance welfare. Using the word "welfare" in Williamsport can inflame conservatives. They do make good points though.

Mr. Savits and Mr. Spate ought to make a trip to the school and check out the next budget. They will be greatly shocked when they see that a VERY SMALL perentage of their tax dollars actually go for students, but rather to the salaries and benefits of school personnel.

Everyone should check out their school's budgets......then maybe something would be done about the constant tax increases.

So many schools are doing away with sports and music programs (unless parent paid), art, physical education, etc. Does your school still have home ec and shop? Students have lost out on a lot, just to sustain the salaries and benefits demanded by the unions/school personnel. There isn't much more they can cut from the students........

Actually I have done the research in the past and Williamsport teachers fall in line with the average salaries of teachers nationwide.
