The list is definitely ridiculous. No Beach Umbrella's? So we're not allowed to block our kids or babys from the sunlight? And yes, people do take babies up there for the game.

Large Coolers? C'mon now..if we're sitting on the hill what does it matter? I can understand you demanding a check of that cooler to ensure no alcohol or anything is being brought in, but c'mon man..that's a bit much.

Tents, Canopies, etc..yeah, OKAY I'll believe that when I see it. Several people did that last year.

Bikes, do you have a rack? Because some kids ride their bikes TO the game. Also, question about the Scooters...what're you going to do when a handicap individual strolls up?

Large Bags, what are we talking about here? Backpacks, duffle bags, beach bags? I can understand disallowing duffle bags or back packs but beach bags are usually open topped backs that are easily searchable.

This list seems like an effort to make security not have to really do any searches. Frankly..

Oh and I overlooked the "containers with liquid".

So we're not allowed to bring Soda's there anymore? GOOD LUCK enforcing that! I can guarantee you, there will be hundreds of violators.

Sorry folks, but this list of prohibited items has been in effect since shortly after 9/11 and it doesn't seem to have affected attendance at all. In fact, the Keystone games set attendance records.

wwhickok, I don't know if you've attended any games in recent years but there are bike racks near each of the security checkpoints around the complex. There are also shuttles and carts that are more than willing to run around any disabled persons. In fact, they'll give just about any person that asks a ride up the hill.

The LL World Series in one of the few events in our area, or anywhere for that matter, that I can take my family of five to and enjoy a whole day's entertainment including food and drinks for $25 or less. Instead of complaining, head on over and give it a try!

Unfortunately, this is the world we now live in. The restrictions are for everyone's safety. If you don't like it, watch the games on TV. That is what I plan on doing. ;)

djzlucky -

Thank you for shedding some light on my comments. I can understand the disagreements with them. Honestly, no, I haven't been to a Little League World Series game in...wow..since prior to 9/11 honestly. The things I pinpointed to me, just seemed like things that were excessive and the ONLY REASON I say that is because, for example, th Canopy, I saw TWO OF THEM on the hit last year on tv. Clear as day. So my question would be, are these fan canopies or are they for vendors or something?

I didn't know whether there were bike racks or not which is why I posed that question, so this is basically saying that you just can't take them into the stadium areas/Hill. I can completely understand that.

Here's a question, is the plastic bottles (such as soda bottles) restriction related to litter? Is that the issue? I can frankly also understand that if it is. I haven't been there so frankly, I don't know if, after the games, they're having problems with people leaving

their trash behind.

I do think some things are little..excessive but, I guess there's some logic to them. Again I haven't been there in quite some time, if you guys have and you know how it runs, well I'm willing to take your word on its efficiency.

As for you Sham...you really are an idiot.

My family and just about everyone I know stopped going to the LLWS years ago. Its a hassle with parking and security. Its a tourist event now.

It's been a tourist event for a very long time. Frankly, it's the reason we have so many hotels in this city. Because everyone knows, for a short time every year, this city is overrun with tourists, it makes driving through town hectic and it makes it impossible to find a hotel room if your life depended on it. I'm not complaining I don't mind the tourists personally, I just think we do too much in this city specifically for tourists.

The backpacks I understand. I think the problem is there isn't enough of a description in this article as to what they're considering a 'large bag' or a 'large cooler' etc.

For example, are people not permitted to take in Diaper Bags?

As long as they don't 'outlaw' kids being able to sled down the hill, I don't really care lol. The kids have a great time there.

I'm fairly certain that "containers with liquid" are prohibited here for the same reason they are prohibited from flights (possible binary explosives), not because of a littering problem.

The canopies cover vendor stands on the hill behind Lamade Stadium.

I've seen diaper bags over there, so they must be ok. I also know that you can bring camp chairs in bags and they'll put a tag on the bag to show that it has already been checked by security.

The biggest issue I've seen at the security checkpoints is people trying to bring in sunscreen, finding out that they can't, then slowing down the lines while they hurry up and spray down the whole family! If you're a patient soul it's actually kind of fun to watch!

I go to the LLWS every year and the restrictions are nothing new. Some are meant for safety and others are so they can make some money. I think it's fair though, I mean it is free admission.

I'm a little confused at the Sun Screen Restriction, is that another 'potential explosive' restriction or something? That one doesn't really make sense to me.

Again, thanks djlucky for taking the time to explain some of these restrictions that I took initial exception to, they make a bit more sense now, don't seem so ridiculous when I understand them.

I watch from home but that's mainly because I have a small son and the heat can be a bit much for him at times. Though the way its looking it won't be as hot this year as it was last year on the hill.
