While it is the responsibility of local government to keep this city safe, it is also the responsibility of it's citizens to be diligent in cooperating with authorities when they know who and where these criminals are. I credit the district attorney for taking the first step in educating the citizens and proving them the tools to help take their neighborhoods back and assist the police in solving this crime problem. Now it's up to the citizens to stand up and do their part. Stop sitting on your backside and expecting everyone else to do it for you.

Not to be critical Bryan, but a little effort at using puncuation would go a long way at getting your point across with a little better clarity!

I see that you have been talking to my wife and children Brian. Yes, I am PERFECT! Now, about that punctuation, a simple period at the end of a sentence would make for a nice start. We'll have you using commas and semi-colons before you know it!

Streetmachine you can't expect law enforcement to be everywhere all of the time. The reality is much of policing is reactive. If citizens do their part by being more observant and proactive in their neighborhoods, this can aid the authorities with their mission. The sad fact is, there are those out there that know who these criminals are and many say nothing or even go as far as protecting them.

You want to control crime, start up the work gangs and make 'em sweat it out.

Street- It's call a team effort. Are you going to sit by and watch some thugs "check out" the houses on your block to rob them, or are you going to call the cops and give them a heads up? No confrontation, just doing your civic duty.

Are we going for the low hanging fruit like jay-walkers and speeders first anx working our way up to the gang bangers? If we are, I'm starting with the jay walkers, them gang bangers have plenty of guns and they shoot pretty straight!

People get the neighborhood they are willing to tolerate. The police can only act when there’s probable cause a crime has already been committed.

It might indeed be time for a change, but make sure that it is a change for the better. Campana may be an awful mayor, but he's certainly better than some the city has had.
