There's a reason why the jackpot is so large...it's nearly impossible to win. If all of these ticket buyers had any sense, they'd learn to play blackjack or another game that gave them a reasonable chance to win. At least their money would last a little longer....

I also agree with Mr. Poole. Recent studies have shown that the nation's poorest spend about 9% of their annual income on lotteries. They, of course, are playing it because they're desperate, and in the long run, it's arguably the lottery fueling this desperation.
