There's a reason why the jackpot is so's nearly impossible to win. If all of these ticket buyers had any sense, they'd learn to play blackjack or another game that gave them a reasonable chance to win. At least their money would last a little longer....

I also agree with Mr. Poole. Recent studies have shown that the nation's poorest spend about 9% of their annual income on lotteries. They, of course, are playing it because they're desperate, and in the long run, it's arguably the lottery fueling this desperation.
