Wrong priorities

August 10, 2013

Today a politician does not do what is right for the citizens but on what their respective party dictates. It seems that we are no longer a country, “For the people by the people....

Jerry, I've been a lifetime Yankee's supporter, but since they chose to allow ARod to come back and play, I'm going with the Phillies!

Bufftrev1,

Since I've lived here for seven years now I've decided it was time to route for a local football team and to wish my beloved Patriots well.

I've chosen the Eagles!

Thanks for the tips, everyone.. I'm in, Gavin, sounds like a nice way to spend a day. It'll be football season soon, we can discuss the Eagles dismal chances again this year..

Buff, I'm sure you will have well water, do a baseline test. I always did mine in the spring after all of the snow had melted off of the mountains, I wish you good luck on your new home.

Buff, not sure where outside of Montoursville you are locating, but the information BornHere provided are your choices.

Everyone I know that was on Herr Cable have long ago switched to satellite, and Verizon's speed makes it hard to watch ppv movies or stream via Roku.

If you are out 87 I will have to have you out to the cabin some weekend. I was out there yesterday playing with the dogs in the 'sock. The only rule is no political discussions.

Bufftrev1,

You ought to ask your real estate agent; they should know these types of things or be able to find out easily and get back to you.

Where I live it is between towers and the roof of the house has the tech shield (aluminum foil-like radiant barrier). We had to get a microcell in the house to help.

"We need a socialist party to stick up for workers." - Shulski

I thought that was what unions were for.

Look up Brazil, Tula and Rousef for an idea of true socialism. Or look to Britain and Germany for a look at how socialist parties grant the working classes more freedom, privileges and rights than are granted in the USA. Although, I think the government has people brainwashed to think socialism is always authoritarian. Even though it's practiced democratically in ever industrialized nation except the USA. We need a socialist party to stick up for workers.

True Socialism occurs when the working class becomes the dominate class in society. When business and government answer to the needs of labor. Read some Karl Marx. The "Proletariat" (workers) take over factories and places of work from their capitalist oppresses. Thus, entering a much higher stage of freedom and rights than allowed in capitalism. It's a theory. Read Marx and the real socialist theory. Not what 1950s government/corporate propaganda tells you about socialism. Socialist and Labour parties exist in every industrialized nation except the USA. They grant the working classes freedom, wages and rights unheard of under corporate capitalism.

Buff, when I lived on 87 I had Verizon for my internet and phone and I had Herr Cable for my TV and of course REC for my electric.

History is the best judge of your convictions, and it presents dismal consequences as aresult of their implimentation.

Hello gavin, hello all.. I haven't been on here for a while and I hate to change the subject but need to ask.. my better half and I are closing on our home in Montoursville this week, and our cell phones do not work well at the new property. I've been on hold forever with Comcast so want to ask the group, who provides internet, land line (phone)and tv services in rural Montoursville, N. of 220? Thanks, all, for any help..

I wasn't really all that concerned Jerry. I'm just humored by how often people here use drama and exaggerations when stating a viewpoint. Actually, yours was mild in comparison to most others. Some are downright hilarious.

Well Jerry, when you consider that just a little less than 4 years ago it was divided 258-177 in favor of dems, 234-201 doesn't seem so huge. Obviously, the pendulum can swing quickly the other way.

"Where do you people like Ida come up with their bs? What is wrong with this country is people like Ida and her ignorance."

Actually, what is wrong with this country, are the Dumbama toadies. No original thoughts. They can only say what all good little toads are trained to say.

It's (EXACTLY) the "T-Baggers" who are CREATING all the Gridlock. Their "creative"-abilities are aiding in their "efforts" to do absolutely NOTHING! Granted, they got the "overbearing-chore" of collecting a significant-CHECK, in the mean-time...but, my guess is...that was their plan, all-along. It's LOOKIN' like...the "T-Baggers" have been HU$TLED, again...by opportunists in "T-Bagger" "clothing"...much like The DICK; Armey did; ANOTHER "front" in Republicans' Civil War.

Isn't there a Wmspt street corner Sham can visit? Maybe it would get his mind off P O R N for awhile.

Everyone UNDERSTANDS the inexperience o' House-members...due to their rookie-status...but, what satisfaction do those T-Baggers get, by showcasing their IGNORANCE, on-TOP-of their inexperience??!!!"

WOW.....sham is really getting it on today.....p o r n and more p o r n.

You progressives see injustice and inequality everywhere (or just make it up) and empower government to take liberty and money from others and future generations to temporarily pacify your cries for "hope and change."

--

Ritty-

Conservatives could hold majorities in ALL branches and all halls of government and you would still rant on and on about progressives' flawed beliefs.

Who are you to judge my convictions?

234(54%) vs. 201(46%) isn't much of a "huge majority" in my opinion"

--

Thirty-three seats isn't a huge majority? Alrighty then. I disagree, but you're certainly entitled to your opinion.

How about you tell me how many seats the majority must hold before it can feel comfortable describing it as "huge".
