"None of the three other drives had car insurance."

"How's that possible? There is a law that requires them to have insurance."

Enigma.....wonder why so many people have "uninsured motorist coverage" included in their auto insurance?

How's that possible? There is a law that requires them to have insurance. Do you mean to tell me that not everyone obeys the law? I think I heard someone say that during the gun ban debate. And I bet all three of those drivers are still out there with their cars and no insurance, hitting other drivers. I guess we can see how well laws work at stopping crime.

My son has been in three auto accidents that were not his fault, over the past five or six years. None of the three other drives had car insurance. Do you think any of these uninsured people would stick around if they backed into your car?

You guys are killing me. I guess I really know that honesty is becoming more and more rare, I just don't want to believe it. I suppose that just watching the politicians we've elected lying to us on a daily basis should be enough proof. Now I'm going to be depressed all day. Thanks.

Cavefelon, you are correct. Recently I went to the mall and after leaving Penny's my friend and I noticed on the receipt that the woman that checked us out made an error in our favor. When we went back in the store and approached the woman about it, she was surprised and said "thank you, there are very few people that would have done this." To which I replied, and that is a very sad fact.

@enigma - sadly, it is. My friend just bought her first brand new car a few months ago. The other day, we were leaving work, and during the day someone had backed into it and cracked the fiberglass in the driver's side back bumper area, under the tail light. No note, no nothing. There were 3 vehicles who came and went that day, we know who they are, but can't prove who did it.

Now her insurance company will bear the cost of repairs, or she'll pay for it herself.

Gee Terry, What it Austin didn't want his name in the paper for having an auto accident. Do you really think that most people would not have obeyed the law and done what he did? Is being a decent human being so unusual these days that doing so requires a notice in the paper? Honesty is an admirable characteristic, but I hope it has not become so rare as to be newsworthy.
