No, I do not mean financially broke, I mean physically broke. The streets are in terrible condition....

They need the extra street lights so you can see the massive potholes at night and swerve to avoid them.

You also have to add in the political payback. Who's going to get the contracts for all their "help" at election time.

That's what it's always about, people who deny it are being naive, of course a politician isn't going to tell you it is, they're politicians, it's about lining pockets, about making sure they get theirs before we get ours. If it wasn't, they'd stop bringing minimum wage jobs here and start bringing in businesses who pay nothing short of $11/hr or more and even $11/hr is hard to get by on these days.

They'd fix the dang streets, including the alleys, that have been in absolute disasterous condition for years and are only getting worse.

Tourist Attraction, that's what they want, but the problem is, the perception and reputation of this city is one that, frankly, no one wants to visit.
